Early take on how we match up next week vs. Dallas? (1 Viewer)

The Cowboys are just an another team. They have a crap run game, and 1 really good offensive weapon. We just have to neutralize Ceedee and we will be good there. If we come out firing like we did today, then we will win in grand fashion.
Cowboys are one of the most talented teams in the entire NFL. Did you see what they did to a 10 win team last year?

6 sacks today against the Browns. Our OLine is gonna get tested for real.

Their running game is not good. Outside of CeeDee Lamb, who do they have? Brandin Cooks? I think our personnel can contain him. It's still a tough game but winnable.

You have to beat the Cowboys defensive line to beat the Cowboys.

I love what I saw today. We couldn't have done much better that what we did. I also know the Panthers may not win a game this season and we got to open against them at home.

Carr's TD pass to Moreau was an absolutely terrible decision that happened to work out. I saw no pressure today from the Panthers. If we get blocking like that we are going to score a ton of points. I love our defense against the Cowboys, we'll hold them to under 20 and it'll be up to the offense. I do like that we stayed aggressive all game today on offense. It allows us to start building something bigger when we could have killed clock after the half.

I've been really down on Carr and this offense. Today (one game) isn't going to change that but I'm hoping it the beginning that leads me to eating a murder of crows.

Weird but getting shades of 2009 vibes. 2007 and 2008 were very mediocre years under Payton similar to the last couple years with DA. We had that blowout win at home to begin the year vs Detroit then went to Philly week 2 and put up another 40 burger. It sort of propelled us to the journey we were about to embark upon. We go to Dallas next week in a similar “measuring stick” game to that Philly one in 2009 where if we lose, then it’s kinda like we didn’t exactly pencil it as a guaranteed win. But if we go in and curb stomp them, or just simply win for that matter, could really set us up for the rest of the year.

The last time Dallas' defense face the type of scheme the Saints run, they allowed 42 points. The Saints are absolutely not the 49ers, but seeing today's game everyone has to acknowledge the Saints have more than a punchers chance.

On replay, Carr's throw to Moreau was nowhere near as risky as it looked from the first angle. Moreau was wide open. The only Panthers player who had a chance was covering Johnson and was at least 5 yards away from Moreau when Carr let it rip.

The Browns didn’t have a running game, nor was the oline up to par. Establish the running game early with AK41 and TAYHILL. Take what the defense gives you and be patient. Play the type of defense you played today, and you will be fine.

It worked out. You don't throw it back across the middle of the field against your body late in the redzone. You just don't do it, especially on 2nd and goal from the 3. Do it next week and Diggs will be scoring a TD.

And that was one of Carr's two mistakes today. The other was hitting the truck stick up 20 for no other reason than to do it.

The rest of the game he played flawless.

It was the most impressive opening win in team history, but don't eat the cheese. Carolina stinks.

Dallas will have a week of game film to watch on us now, and their D-line is a whole different animal.

I do feel more hopeful about our chances after today, though.
Dallas didn’t really get cooking offensively until the second half. If the Saints play the first half they way they did today, and Dallas play the first half the way they did today, my bet would be on the Saints.

On their offensive side of the ball, name their talent, excluding Ceedee. They lost 2 of their top 5 receivers last year and replaced them with no one. They are rocking an 85 year old RB. Their defense is cool, but that’s about it. I like their TE, but he got knocked out the game today.

I completely disagree on the Foster TD . It was supposed to go to Landon Young but he couldn't break free. Foster was wide open , maybe the throw could have been made a 1/10 of a sec earlier but it was a great pass the same kind of pass that Brees would make , high where only our player could get it. DC was like a surgeon today his passes were spot on , even the one TH didn't catch was right in his hands
