Early take on how we match up next week vs. Dallas? (2 Viewers)

The key matchup in this game will be Parson’s VS Penning. KK is going to have to give Penning help with some chips from the TE or a RB. From what I saw today, we looked like the better team. Question is will we come out as fired up for this game as we did today?

You say all of this as if they didn't hang 33 points on a top 5 defense in the NFL.

Don't be so native thinking they can't do the same to us.
They didn’t hang 33 on Cleveland. One of those TDs came by a punt return. Cleveland has no run game and their QB is veering into backup QB territory. The Browns had about 8 drives that didn’t even net 10 yards. Thats not even counting the drives that resulted the punt return TD or the 2 interceptions. Their D is really good, but their offense isn’t that great. You didn’t even watch the game did you?

Screen passes. A trick play or two. Maybe Taysom throws via flea flicker or QB run. That should be enough stifle the blitz. AK throws a decent ball and he's game to do whatever. I think Dallas won primarily because Watson is garbage, but I just read the stat-line.

It'll be a good barometer against a team that has some hype and is a usual playoff favorite (even though they crap the bed a lot). I think the Saints will win by a decent margin. The only wrinkle is Dak and his ability to scramble sort-of.

Take away the pass and Dallas is forced to run, which they do not have a good run game with Dowdle and Zeke.

The Saints have played enough against Dak to gameplan for his running.

The Cowboys are just an another team. They have a crap run game, and 1 really good offensive weapon. We just have to neutralize Ceedee and we will be good there. If we come out firing like we did today, then we will win in grand fashion.
I hate the Cowboys as much as anyone here, and they have far more than 1 good offensive weapon. Lest you forget, Dak had 36 TDs last season, which was like, you know, led the league. Lamb is undoubtedly their best WR, but their offense is lit. As good as today's game was, I'm not expecting an easy time. Dallas is gonna be the favorite and I'd be thrilled with a win, but if it's a close, hard fought game and lose, I honestly won't be mad.

Running the ball well will be critical. I saw some good blocking on the outside by the starting WRs, not having to bring in a Krishawn Hogan or Tre’Quan Smith just to do some scrappy work. If they do that, the offshoot I’m hoping for is that it’ll get in their cornerbacks’ heads enough to cause them to go outside of their discipline and gamble on making a play when there’s not one there to make. Win the game within the game.

8 of their wins were against bad teams (yes Rams were playing like garbage at the time) and 2 wins were against .500 teams (at the time although I would still say that the Chargers were a bad team at the time). Their best wins were against Eagles who were in their initial stages of freefall and the Lions. They lost to the 49ers, Bills, Dolphins, and Eagles (see a pattern there), along with dropping a game to the Cards. Then they got eliminated in the playoffs by the Packers. Go ahead and crown them if you want.

It will be a dog fight to beat Dallas, I know people like to hate on them on here, but as you all know we are not really the best Saints team as of late even in our Golden age we had a decade or so back we struggled beating them most of the time. And in a lot of ways the past couple of years these have been better Cowboys teams than they have had in a while.

IDK if you guys have looked at the schedule by my God we have tough games right out the gate. I mean in a way it is a good thing we will at least know where this team is at very quickly in a bad way this could go south for us just as quickly.

I'm not gonna crown them. Just saying they're gonna be a tough out. And they looked pretty good, even if it was against a sus opponent. Any given Sunday.

Both the Cowboys and the Saints won Game 1 against two of the worst teams in the league. So both teams need to guard against thinking they are a top dog at 1-0 before they prove it against some real competition. One team is going to be very disappointed next Sunday. While a loss won’t mean that either team should be eliminated as a possible playoff contender, it does mean that one will get a dose of reality and realize they still have some growing to do. I just hope that some of our injured players today will be able to heal well enough to be effective come game time. We’ll soon see.
Cleveland is definitely not one of the worst teams in the league. Vegas had them favored by -4 most of the week and was -2 today. They had the #1 defense in the NFL last year. There was nothing unimpressive by Dallas' win today.
