Early take on how we match up next week vs. Dallas? (3 Viewers)

It was the most impressive opening win in team history, but don't eat the cheese. Carolina stinks.

Dallas will have a week of game film to watch on us now, and their D-line is a whole different animal.

I do feel more hopeful about our chances after today, though.
Carolina's D does not stink, they were the #4 D last yr

It worked out. You don't throw it back across the middle of the field against your body late in the redzone. You just don't do it, especially on 2nd and goal from the 3. Do it next week and Diggs will be scoring a TD.

And that was one of Carr's two mistakes today. The other was hitting the truck stick up 20 for no other reason than to do it.

The rest of the game he played flawless.
You do it if the receiver is as wide open as Foster was

I completely disagree on the Foster TD . It was supposed to go to Landon Young but he couldn't break free. Foster was wide open , maybe the throw could have been made a 1/10 of a sec earlier but it was a great pass the same kind of pass that Brees would make , high where only our player could get it. DC was like a surgeon today his passes were spot on , even the one TH didn't catch was right in his hands
Carr is throwing the ball off his back foot, 18 yards of air travel against the grain in the red zone. The freeze frame is the release point. The red circle is where the ball was thrown. Again, this is 2nd and goal from the 3 up 10-0. Tell me how many time you want your QB to make that throw. Also, if #2 played for the Saints and gave that effort we'd be killing that dude right now.

The Cowboys are just an another team. They have a crap run game, and 1 really good offensive weapon. We just have to neutralize Ceedee and we will be good there. If we come out firing like we did today, then we will win in grand fashion.
Run game is their weakness for sure, offensively speaking. Strength would be CeeDee and Cooks along with o-line. TE is also heavily utilized in their scheme.

Defensively their stout across the board. Run D was a weakness but they seemed to do a good job today.

My fear is o-line will allow too much pressure forcing Carr into picks. We’ll need to get the run game going for sure.

Both the Cowboys and the Saints won Game 1 against two of the worst teams in the league. So both teams need to guard against thinking they are a top dog at 1-0 before they prove it against some real competition. One team is going to be very disappointed next Sunday. While a loss won’t mean that either team should be eliminated as a possible playoff contender, it does mean that one will get a dose of reality and realize they still have some growing to do. I just hope that some of our injured players today will be able to heal well enough to be effective come game time. We’ll soon see.

Do you see how WIDE open FM is?? That's a throw that I've seen Brees throw many many times and DC has a stronger arm than Brees ever had. A still shot never tells the whole story. Go look at the video, the one from the endzone and you'll see how it was a good size window to fit the ball in. Plus DC was like a surgeon today

On their offensive side of the ball, name their talent, excluding Ceedee. They lost 2 of their top 5 receivers last year and replaced them with no one. They are rocking an 85 year old RB. Their defense is cool, but that’s about it. I like their TE, but he got knocked out the game today.
You say all of this as if they didn't hang 33 points on a top 5 defense in the NFL.

Don't be so native thinking they can't do the same to us.

Cooks has never completely acclimated himself in that offense. Plus, he’s not a real threat anymore honestly, although he could catch us sleeping in the back half. I’m willing to bet that the Cowboys regress this year.

He made some plays today to keep things going for Dallas when CeeDee wasn’t open. Hopefully we’ll see some stuff on tape to limit those types of plays.

The Saints are going to control wk2 at Cowboys something similar to the Packers playoff game. Early lead. These players have a chemistry now, it feels more like a team out the gate. Wait until Olave gets tuned up...
