ESPN’s Mel Kiper mocks Ole Miss QB Jaxson Dart to Saints at #9

Louis Riddick, who has nailed the last couple of drafts at QB raves about the Syracuse and Louisville QBs, he says they both can sling it.

Maybe we should take a shot with one these and use our 9 to shore up the tightend position.

I have to trust Moore and Staley. Whoever they like and what round has to be good enough. Looking back I wish we had traded up a pick for Mahomes, I wish we had taken Lamar either trading up or staying where we were. I wish we had taken Hurts. So ultimately it comes down to what the coaching staff believes or else we have the wrong staff. Personally I think if we got him in the 2nd round or later it would be a good pick just to have a potential starting quarterback. I do however think we have some serious needs on this team especially at wide receiver and cornerback. Having said that Derek Carr is unlikely our long term option at QB and Mel Kiper is correct that we have 2 former 1st overall picks and another 1st rounder in our division so we could use some firepower. I wanted Baker Mayfield over Carr a couple of years ago and got a little panned over it. I liked Nix last year. I do like Dart. While I might prefer him in the 2nd, if Moore loves him at 9 then I would be excited for the pick. At the same time if Staley loves a corner at 9 and Moore backs him then I love that pick to.

More and more are coming around to the idea that Dart qualifies for a top 10 pick, and few (myself included) think its possible he could be the best in this class after a few years.

If Moore wants him @9, I wouldn't be mad at all. Dart is really easy to root for and he's bred to thrive off his competitive nature. It's what makes all the greats, great and just may be one of the more important attributes to a QB. It's what seperates the Brees/Brady/Manning's from the Joe Flaccos/Matt Ryans 12 years ago and the Mahomes/Allen/Mayfield's from the Richardsons/Lawrence today.
