What books did you love as a kid?

I read a lot as a kid (still do) and was thinking about some of my faves growing up

I read Hardy Boys and Beverly Clearly, loved the Bunnicula series





Loved this series, especially COLAR, read it dozens of times









I know this series has like 20 plus books, I only read 3 or 4, but this one was my favorite

these played a huge part of that


Just seeing the cover again for the first time in forever was a bit of a nostalgia bomb. Loved this book!



It's long forgotten but there was a time when I could tell you who the god or goddess of this and that was



Became fascinated after seeing the long banned Song of the South. book is written in dialect so it's not an easy read

i didn't care for most of the books I was assigned to read in school (FU The Master Puppeteer!)

Pre-teen I was a Beverly Cleary fan along with mysteries. Later it was Asimov, Bradbury, etc.

i had a bunch of Choose Your Own Adventure books as a kid but my favorites will always be the Calvin & Hobbes books my sister bought for me

My favorites as a junior high school kid were Tom Sawyer and Huckleberry Finn. I liked The Darkness and the Dawn by Thomas B. Costain. I reread it many years later but wasn't nearly as impressed. I read some of his other books, like The Silver Chalice Parts 1 and 2, but I also read many war books, which I was fascinated by. Yes, I did read all of the Hardy Boys books too. I can't remember much about reading books before junior high other than Dumbo, Pinocchio, Dr. Seuss books and Jack and the Beanstalk.
