ha! - I was trying to show this very thing to my students the other daycan't find a copy of John Belushi playing Beethoven and then becoming Ray Charles
THAT was genius
SNL must be vigilant with its copyright strikes. I couldn't find the Jan Hooks and Phil Hartman film they did, "Love Is a Dream". Or when the Sweeney Sisters found that Paul Simon was in their "audience" and Jan Hooks sang Bridge Over Troubled Water TO Paul Simon with complete tour de force gusto.ha! - I was trying to show this very thing to my students the other day
still can't find it
I saw "love is a dream" but it's a video on FB - there was no way to shareSNL must be vigilant with its copyright strikes. they legit saved the show, if that cast didn't hit; I'm pretty sure it would have all been mothballedIt's kind of amazing to look back at the cast that was put together in 1986 (which I think of as nearly iconic as the first group of Not Ready For Prime Timer Players) after near cancellation of SNL in 1985 ... and it's just hit 50 years.
