Fletcher Mackel: 2025 Already Feels Like a Lost Season (85 Viewers)

Fletcher, Siglar, are the worst click bait pandering to the doom and gloom squad local hacks out there.. The internet needs to invent a way where you can take your click back when you realize how moronic the reporter is
Sigler and Kushner are awful too. Everything the Saints do is terrible, bad when in reality the Saints current troubles begin and end with 2 things, hiring Dennis Allen and drafting poorly. The constant complaining about salary cap management is void of facts or analysis regarding how the Saints management of the salary has affected wins and losses (hint, it hasn't and oh by the way, take a look at what the Eagles have done to build their roster).

We were 5-5 with him and 0-7 without him and Mackrel thinks it’s a lost season because he’s on the roster? That opinion is clearly not based on football.
And it was not at all clear whether the team (Mickey and Moore) wanted Carr here or not until last week. So is it really crazy that he was open to being traded before that? The issue is now settled.

This "lost season" stuff is a massive overreaction. We are above .500 the last two years with Carr starting football games for us. It's like people are mad that Moore wants to actually try to win football games as an NFL head coach.

Did fans really expect him to come in and tie the fate of his head coaching career to an 0-7 5th round rookie he has no connection to?

It is a lost season. What exactly did we do after a 5 win season? A coach can make changes but I don’t see a Drew Brees pick up I don’t see a Reggie bush pickup in the draft. It’s okay we are in a rebuild mode.

Tell me please how and where it is you think that we are chasing 7-10 wins this season??
Carr has a 14-13 record as the Saints starter, he's been hurt every year he's been here. 0 playoff wins in his entire career. This roster has more unknowns now than ever before. He's an overall career loser, a bottom mid tier QB that will need a top 5 defense and running game to have success to the point he only has to throw 15-20 times a game. He doesn't elevate anybody, he throws hospital balls, he starts seeing ghosts quicker than any QB in the league the moment he gets hit a few times.

If everything goes right, its probably a 10 win team but realistically, I have them between 7-10 wins. It will depend on injuries and whether or not they hit on at least 2 contributing draft picks out of the box who impact this team from the get-go.

There's a lot of ignorant in the saints faithful currently. The sky skreamer poison pill is contagious.
I imagine both sides view their opinion as correct (while screaming that the other side is ignorant). It’s unfortunate.

I feel it’s best to go into the season with very low expectations, and anything north of 5 wins is lagniappe. Going in with a low bar doesn’t set you up for disappointment, and a nice hedge for a successful season.

If it were a 5-win season where Carr played 17 games instead of 10, the take would make more sense.
