BleuDaughter #2

BleuDaughter #2, when she was about 3 or 4, became very exasperated with her mother who had just admonished her for not getting her toys picked up. BD#2 drew herself up to her full height, placed her hands on her hips, stared at her mother and exclaimed,

"What do you think I am? S.P.L. stupid?!?"

We had to take a walk outside because we were stifling our reaction so hard that tears were streaming down our face at the humor of her trying to be indignant while attempting to spell "stupid" for whatever reason.

"Karate"
OMG the trying not to laugh when they're so upset and so dang cute about it
i feel so bad but **** it's funny

My youngest daughter is still with us and handled some adversity really well.

One of our lifelong family friends died on her birthday in 2015 and every year now we approach the day with bated breath to see if she spirals. Not this year.

Which is Fing awesome.

i finally got in touch with a friend. she is moving to houston :( in a week, so briefly good than sad.

oh, back working in boston instead of minneapolis. that is a big plus.

I had a date Saturday night. I've been separated (divorced as soon as we work out healthcare and equity in the houses) for 3 years, and she is far and away the best. We have a lot in common, and she is a lovely lady :)

Congratulations. In a similar situation.....divorced for about 3 years and been dating a wonderful woman for nearly a year.

I’m very happy for you both.

However, because it’s the two of you, I must verify; are we talking about real womenfolk? Like with human organs, blood, arteries, breathing oxygen and such?
Or are we talking about the women-kind that require you to add air to keep them from deflating?

I mean, I’ll still be happy for you both - you can be honest. :hihi:

Real....she made me get rid of my inflatable side piece.

Real here too! Saturday was our first date, so it's kinda hard for me to ditch my nasty habits just yet.

So far I can say I'd dump most of my wicked ways for her, and hope she would appreciate the remainder of them:mwink:

Nice! Good luck 👍

I had this stupid idea that dating at my age would be easier. After awhile I realized that the vast majority of single people in their mid to late 40s are divorced and the reason that the vast majority of divorces happen because one or both are complete schmucks which really narrows down the pool of good people (for both men and women)

The area in which I live is not exactly a target-rich environment for me. It's very conservative, and many folks in my age bracket move south after retirement (I'm 63). I was about ready to throw in the towel, but my daughter is 12, so moving is not an option.

My friend is 14 years younger than me and has 3 kids, two in college and one a sophomore in high school. She has said she wants to stick around here for a bit, so we'll see how things go. She's a runner, and has done ultra-marathons up to 50 miles. As I have no desire to run that far, I volunteered to be support staff at her races :hihi:

Good luck to you as well! I hope to report back in a year that she and I are doing well together :)
