That's what this mainly boils down to. "If this were elsewhere, DA would have gotten a one-to-two-year window to show he's a competent HC."

Remember Payton had Drew Brees and he only got us one championship. How about we go into week 9 of a season with a winning record first before we talk about winning a championship without Payton.
We ain't winning a d*nm thing with DA

You've heard Loomis speak before, right? What evidence do you have of this wild speculation?
It’s always natural when you see a high profile split like this. What evidence do you have of this wild speculation?

I like that you give me a facepalm reaction but at least address me on the issue with posts.
I like you
Loomis always had a massive ego. He just kept quiet about it.I've heard him speak before but there is nothing in what he said that gives any evidence that he has some kind of obsession with proving he can win without Payton. If he wanted that, he would not have done everything he could to keep Payton here all those years when he was flirting with other teams. And he would have hired the guy Payton endorsed to be his first HC post Payton.
Beyond all that he's never sought the spotlight and has spoken more now because DA is terrible with the press and public. And Loomis isn't good at it either. I mean, Loomis has been and NFL GM or in an NFL front office for like 40 years when did he suddenly develop this ego?
But, if you have so indication of what you say he is doing, I'd be happy and interested to look at it.
I don't think Loomis is a great GM, I think he's mid-level and he needs a coach like Payton to lead the organization and be more of the personnel guy. DA clearly isn't that.

Happened with Jones when Jimmy went to Miami.
The Patriots, BB, and Brady.
