I remember Michael would inspect Mika Häkkinen's Mercedes immediately after the race when he would lose to him. Schumacher was my favorite growing up. When I was a teenager, I wrote Ferrari asking them how I could become a driver for their team. To their credit, someone wrote me back and told me start racing carts at 6 years old and then laid out the full progression most of these drivers take. That ended my dream of being an American driver for the Ferrari F1 team.
