Article Fowler: “Early belief that Loomis has good chance to remain Saints general manager. Thats not 100%, but thats what people in the know are predicting.” (1 Viewer)

If Mickey basically does nothing when it comes to football then what is the point of having him? Any GM can just press the restructure button if they want to operate finances that dumb.
He does not do nothing , that's ridiculous. ML has said himself thedraft is done by consensus and if there is a disagreement he make the decision, but I'll bet most of the time he sides with the HC.And the way he does the cap is not dumb when you have a window with a future HOF QB. People just refuse to understand that covid is what threw a monkey wrench into the process. It took a once in a 100 yr pandemic to throw the cap out of wack. And if we had been drafting better which is mainly the fault of the HC and scouting dept ( More so the HC ) then the cap would not be an issue because we'd have young good players to rely on instead of keeping players past their prime like Cam and Mathieu

I don't care. He hasn't proven to be a good GM in a long time. He's crippled our team with bad contracts and bad hiring decisions. If your argument is that he was only going along with what DA wanted when the team organization was clearly falling apart, then that only supports my argument that Loomis is more to blame.
SMH the biggest mistake ML made was listing to SP when he recommended DA for the job. And if I recall way more than half this board was all for DA as HC to keep the continuity that SP had left

Excerpt from ESPN pay wall article.

"The early belief among league insiders is that Mickey Loomis has a good chance to remain as Saints general manager. That's not 100%, but that's what people in the know on these sorts of things are predicting. The Saints have traditionally valued connectivity/familiarity, which could be a factor in the interview process. Lions defensive coordinator Aaron Glenn, a Saints defensive backs coach from 2016 to 2020, is expected to get a look in New Orleans. Bills offensive coordinator Joe Brady, a Saints offensive assistant from 2017 to 2018 and the LSU offensive coordinator when Joe Burrow led the Tigers to a national championship, is a logical name as well. And an intriguing candidate would be Broncos defensive coordinator Vance Joseph, who is from the New Orleans area. The Saints will likely cast the proverbial wide net, but I think their tendency toward familiarity is noteworthy."
Loomis we keep this up I might just have to fire myself. Lol
