FA Free Agency is About to Start (1 Viewer)

It seems that the risk is less than usual. Peat? Thomas? Roach? Graham?
Reading the tea leaves I don't think Thomas and Graham are coming back and Roach has a major injury so I don't expect much of a market for him.

Yiadom and Baun are the two I'm most concerned about potential interest in, along with Peat. Can't believe those are the three.

That's the way it is when you spend 30% of your next check already before you finished your pay period.
That's true but it doesn't have a lot to do with it. We just don't have many big time free agents for a change this year, and each of those guys came off the scrap heap to have good seasons.

Saints won’t take part in first wave of free agency. Even the 2nd wave might be too rich for where they are right now. Expect a handful of small contracts but nothing flashy. Dennis has all but been assured he’s got at least 2 years to make it work.

When does it officially start?
Unofficially Monday at 11am CST. That’s the start of the legal tampering period, where players and teams can discuss and agree to deals (but not sign them).

Officially Wednesday at 3pm CST. That’s when players can start signing contracts.

Why are there so many posters saying the Saints need a TE like its a void??? There's 2 very capable TEs plus Taysom already signed up. Adding another free agent or high draft pick TE would not be the wisest use of capital. :munch:

Because everyone wants a Kittle/Kelce. Not saying Bowers will be that, but we certainly don't have a TE that can do both well.

Yep. Bowers has a ceiling that is close to Kelce's receiving ability and Kittle's blocking ferocity/acumen.
He would be a 85% snap rate kinda guy that seldom leaves the field and can line up all over.
It would allow Juwan to focus on the big-slot spot, Taysom as the joker hybrid fullback/move guy and Foster as a strict in-line TE and blocker in jumbo/RZ stuff. TE is absolutely a need, we'd be so much deeper.
