Jennings would cost the Saints their second round pick plus a contract worth more than $5mil/yr. He was effectively off the market once he signed his RFA tender.

Yeah he signed his tender last week. We can't afford to part with a second rounder for basically a 4th or 5th wide receiver. I believe that's why the Saints went ahead and signed Cedric Wilson Jr.

I was listening to a pod cast called Saints Now with Trace Girouard. He was talking about how he heard certain people talking about how FS Justin Simmons would be the prefect fit for our defense. I know he's a little older at 31, but if he is still playing at a high level, why not try to bring him in. Girouard was saying Simmons and Mathieu would be a real good Safety team. I've seen a little of his highlights and he ain't no slouch.
