From Adam Schefter: Bills OC Ken Dorsey Fired (1 Viewer)

I disagree. Our players have been frustrated for pretty much the entire season. I’m sure they would be 100% willing to see someone else take the reins at OC. The longer you let a problem persist, the more the players will not believe. 🦌 and Sneaky Pete, have really botched this. You can’t go two years straight, knowing what the problem is, and be ok with it. The band-aid can be ripped off at any moment to the delight of our team. The main thing to do IS to rip the band-aid off. However 🦌 won’t do it. He doesn’t have it in him. He may be the one who has had the incriminating photos all along🤣
Don't get me wrong I think we need changes to the coaching staff. But I don't see how making an assistant coaching change mid-season for a team that is in playoff contention ever works out? I could be wrong but mid-season changes are for teams that are normally out of it and the HC is trying to save his job. As crazy as it seems we are not out of it in the NFC South. DA doesn't seem to be on the hot seat so and as long as the team remains in the hunt then status quo. We will have an entire off-season to make coaching changes. If we can take care of the division games we have left we could be in the drivers seat with a .500 overall record.

Other teams know when to move on. Not the saints 😆
Some teams move on too quickly too.

Imagine if the Saints got rid of Sean after the 2008 season.

The Raiders coach is almost always someone new. Browns have been the same way. And a few other teams are revolving doors.

I can't stand the turnover-worthy play stat from PFF because I don't think they know what tight window throws are (lol) but I agree that
PFF has evolved a lot since the Collinsworth acquisition. Do they get everything right? No, but even the pro evaluators don't. What I've learned is that every team in the NFL is using their data to make decisions on and off the field. Not necessarily their grading, but they can tell PFF to show them every turnover-worthy play from Josh Allen in the last two years and get all of the videos almost instantly to see what's causing them (and decide for themselves if the plays were turnover-worthy). Or get every video where a LT got a negative grade so that teams can identify and exploit that player's weaknesses. And they can get incredibly detailed game planning information that I wish I could pull (ex. what route concepts do teams run when a certain WR lines up in the slot).

Even their stats and grading are all vetted by former NFL players and coaches, it's not a bunch of guys working out of their garages like it was when it was founded.

This is where stats become Damned lies.

Watching live tape of Allen Play shows he can make a lot of bone headed passes that turn the ball over at the most inopportune times. It's not just about the frequency of his turnovers, it's also about the timing.

And he like to fumble, He fumbled like 13 times last season.
They get their grades/stats by watching live tape, and gave him two turnover-worthy plays last night. You're right that they don't adjust for situation, but few stats do beyond EPA and DVOA, although those are based on results (a tipped pass getting intercepted is a negative even if the QB had nothing to do with it).

And as for last year, he had the sixth-worst turnover-worthy play rate in 2022, so it seems they did give him poor marks for his ability to hold onto the football.

That's good to know because I remember at a time, they talking about turnover worthy throws and it was basically a tight window pass throwing the receiver open. I forgot who the QB was, but I was like "how in the world would this be classified as such." I also still think that there are human biases that goes into it but that's neither here nor there.

Let me ask you this. With 🦌 already stating that Carr is his QB and his inability to fire Pete, what makes you think we can win the division kicking FGs? Record wise we are in the division hunt obviously, but looking at things objectively, what do you see? Do you feel confident in the 🦌/DC4/PC offense? I sure don’t. So with that being said, I would be 100% willing to try a 🦌/DC4/KD option. Cant be any worse right?!?!

Are we worse than any other team in the Division? Right now, we are not. We are first in the NFC South by record. Can we beat the Falcons, Bucs and Carolina kicking FG's if necessary? IDK but we will find out shortly.
DA's job doesn't appear to be in danger (yet) and the team is in playoff contention. Until one or both those conditions change then the team is saying they are moving forward with the status quo. We might not like the inconsistent play, underachieving and sloppy execution but as you pointed out DA isn't making changes to the staff.
Again, I'm not a fan of how the team has responded to the coaching. I'm just watching like everyone else. You can either chose to dwell on the bad, and there is a lot of bad. Or you can look at the positives, the NFC South is a dumpers fire and wide open. Honestly, except for Carolina the race is wide open and should make for some great football down the stretch. That is keeping me tuned in and interested. If the team folds in the tents after the bye then we can get on the "burn it down" train. Otherwise I'm just a fan.

Other than the division sucking, there are no positives. Look, I tempered my expectations after last year, until I saw our schedule at the beginning of the season. Then I had hope, but reserved hope. We will most likely never get another “cush” schedule like this, with every other variable being in our favor. We have a golden opportunity and we keep playing hot potato with them. I too am a fan and I feel that we deserve a lot better, even with my tempered expectations. Is a great half of football too much to ask for? Are consecutive great offensive sequences too much to ask for? As a fan, when all of the fun is gone, then what are you tuning in for? I’m at the point where I’m watching bc I can’t turn away from a train wreck
