I'm not saying Russ's decline was solely due to Canalas, I'm just saying it was on his watch. I just don't see him as a QB whispererEXACTLY. There are some locations that are rarely, if ever, conducive for a rookie QB.

That's why I hate calling players bust. You have these horribly ran organizations that put the hope of the franchise on the shoulders of a QB without really giving them the tools to succeed. Somebody here (LOL) believes that I hate Mahomes but nah, I just understand that if he would have been drafted to any of those 6 teams, he would be somebodies backup today. He was drafted to an organization with a winning culture that he had zero hand in building, a hall of fame QB, and he sat behind a QB as he led a top 10 offense. The Packers are probably the best at handling QB development and it has reaped benefits.
I have to be real with you here. Wilson's decline didn't come from Canales per se. I don't know if you remember the "let Russ cook" thing and him wanting to be seen like Drew and Brady. Russ' decline came because he wanted to play outside his skillset. I've watched Russ since college (because he visited Auburn before going to Wisconsin) and if you look at the offense he ran his last season in college, the offense in Seattle mirrored that. He was successful in that offense but when he wanted to be seen differently, you saw the decline. This is why I say that a fallacy in evaluated QB is equating "success" with skill.
Especially in this day and age of bad quarterbacking. lol. But who are the vets that these player could really sit behind. We have organizations that will push out a vet to rush a rookie out there. That's how we got Teddy.
