Delvin Breaux (RFA low tender)
Brandon Coleman (RFA low tender)
Willie Snead (RFA low tender)
Senio Kelemete
Zach Line

Free Agents

Trey Burton, TE, Eagles: This would address 2 needs with 1 player. Burton has the skill-set to play TE and slot WR.

Tre Boston, FS, Chargers: Relatively cheap upgrade option for Rafael Bush. Solid coverage S.

DaQuan Jones, DT, Titans: 300+ pounder that plays the run well and can also rush the passer some. Still has upside.

Jaron Brown, WR, Cardinals: Speed WR with good size and length. Could come cheap.

Draft

1. Ronnie Harrison, SS, Alabama - Thumper In-the-box SS that has great range and is a sure tackler. Could realistically move into a WLB role similar to former Tide standout Mark Barron.

3. Jerome Baker, OLB, Ohio State - Super athletic LB with great speed and good coverage ability. Size is a concern, but upside is big and speed is greatly needed.

4. Danny Johnson, CB, Southern - super fast and quick slot CB with a knack for intercepting the football.

5. Shaun Dion Hamilton, ILB, Alabama - Hamilton is coming off of two season ending knee injuries, but he has 1st round talent and much needed speed from the LB position.

5. Scott Quessenberry, G, UCLA - Solid interior OL prospect with versatility to play C as well.

6. Bo Scarborough, RB, Alabama - Power RB with upside. Could push Trey Edmunds and vie for the 3rd RB spot.

6. Jake Wieneke, WR, S. Dakota St. - Highly productive small school possession WR.

7. Matt Elam, NT, Kentucky - Massive NT prospect that could be run-stuff specialist. *Project player.

Ohio State player, check. A running back? In our current style of offense, check........an O-lineman? Check. Potential replacement for Kenny V? Check.

It's a mock draft that passes the initial eyeball test, for sure.

So what happens if Oakafor goes down with an injury again?

You have Trey Hendrickson take on a bigger role, and hope that AQM and/or Loewen are ready to contribute. I believe that Hendrickson got better the more he played, and I think he could develop into the DE we need opposite of Cam Jordan.

Interesting....

You met my OSU and possible Kenny V replacement requirement in the same pick.........you met my O-lineman requirement........and you met my RB requirement, and even did so with an LSU player (a requirement I didn't specify, but it's almost like you know me).

You earned that green thumb.

I question Vander Esch’s speed and agility. I think the Saints NEED to add speed and agility to their LB corps, and I don’t think LVE helps us there.

I think he's one of the most athletic LBs in the draft. We'll see how he does at the combine, but his supposed numbers compare to Brian Urlacher. We'll see if he lives up to them.

I don’t know the player well at all, and I’ve never seen him play. I’m going off of pre-combine projections and articles.

From what I’ve read, his speed is a weakness and I’ve seen projected 40 times at 4.80

Brian Urlacher is quite a complimetary comparison. He was the ninth overall pick in 2000, running a 4.57 at 258lbs and a 10-2 broad jump. Tony Pauline thinks Vander Esch could post similar numbers:

I’m told Vander Esch could run as fast as 4.6s in the 40 at the combine and post a vertical jump near 37 inches. On film Vander Esch is everything an NFL team wants in a starting linebacker. He’s tough, instinctive and versatile and can stay on the field for any situation.

Uhhhhh NOOOOOOO, remember ya boy TACO aka BUSTBOY aka GRASS KILLER, I do!! Remember the guy I wanted, Derek Barnett and my other guys in my mock I hit on all of them. So I will be putting up the REAL mock offseason soon. HINT: 2018 NO Saints 1st rd pick Dallas Goedert aka lil GRONK(best TE in the draft hands down)

Remember all the crap you said all season? Everyone looks up to you because you drive a GTO? Payton and Dennis Allen needed to be fired? I could go on and on and on.. Guess I should dismiss anything you say about football or just anything in general (the GTO spill). I don't think Charlton over Barnett was that big of a deal. They were both first round DEs. Not nearly as ridiculous as most of your posts.

Not hating on your pick or anything.......but one concern I have with signing a free agent TE or drafting one with the expectation to come in and contribute immediately is that it seems to take TEs at least a year to get fully comfortable in our system.

Graham basically redshirted 2010 before becoming the monster many said he'd be in 2011. Before him, Shockey was pretty ho-hum during his first season with us in 2008. And Coby Fleener in 2016 seemed to take a while to grasp things.

Maybe with the emphasis on the ground game, that can change, going forward. But it's one of the reasons I've been hoping they bring Graham back instead of signing someone completely unfamiliar.

Trade Armstead while he has so much worth. Send Peat to LT. Get a guard.

Trade up and grab fumigali

Poe in FA.

I'm bad at these..

But I really want fumigali... he has a connection with ramzyck.. and would solidify our TE spot.
