have you seen the real world lately?
fantasy and make believe is better (and more believable)
I’m actually talking about how the world of PEDs has caused folks to lose their face-to-face communication skills.
A few years ago my wife and I were at a restaurant and watched four young ladies climb into a booth to eat together one evening. Each of them immediately pulled out their smart phone and began texting other people. This continued without letup until the waitress came by to take their order. Only one of them stopped texting to place the order for the entire group. Then she went back to texting.
Their food arrived and they each began to eat without discontinuing any of their text conversations. Though we left before they completed their meal, I can promise you that the four of then said less than 50 words to each other while we were there. It was truly sad to watch. 😢

I remember seeing a couple do this one night when we were out to eat a few years ago. They sat across from each other and didn’t say a word the whole meal while they fingered their devices.

when we go out to eat with my in laws, usually once a week (8 of us total), we may get on our phones spartically, but its never everyone on their phones most o fthe time thing.
I read an article once because of what was mentioned above, wait times at places have gotten longer because when a table is done eating, they hang around longer because they are on their phones, add that to taking longer to eat because of being on your phone, it makes sense. that could hurt a servers tip total in the long run over a busy night..

Was dating a younger woman for a few months. I let her know that I expected her to pay more attention to me than her phone. She found an excuse to stop talking.

It was fun while it lasted...
