I thought, I heard the only thing holding back any kind of playoff was the Rose Bowl, or the PAC-10 and BIG 10..... I think all the conferences with conference championship games are for a playoff....

Thats the single most reason I can't stand USC. Not because I don't like their team, not because I think they are overrated, but because they and their contacts in the rose bowl gurantee them a spot in that game every year. Likewise they won't support a playoff because it would mean they aren't guranteed a BCS bowl every year anymore.

And even USC fans don't disagree with this...they don't want to mess with "tradition", which I understand to a point, but when "tradition" means that the same team makes it EVERY year, then it's time for a change.
