I was one of the ones critical of D.A. But it seems he made the necessary coaching changes to make us a productive team again. Good work Dennis and coaching staff so far this season

Also giving Carr credit. I’m guessing last season he was playing through injuries which probably explains his inept performances last season. Much better so far this season.

I'm not ready to eat a full plate of crow, but I'd be a real butt crevasse not to start my appetizer at least. :a-table:

We look like a completely different team on offense right now. We're attacking the field all over and the OL concerns have dissipated enormously despite the only change really being Fuaga for Ramczyk. The lack of a big WR/TE doesn't seem to be hurting us. Kamara and Hill are both playing younger than they are. Carr just seems to click with what Kubiak wants to do, and Kubiak seems to enjoy our offensive talent rather than acting burdened by it.

And of course with the offense more than holding up its side of the ball, the already stout defense looks even better. It's a delightful way to start the season.

This organization did a great job of recognizing offensive trends and complimenting the talent acquired with the coaching that could exploit it.

DA is a modern defensive coach who found a modern offensive coach to compliment what he's trying to do or recreate as a team.

That’s why, despite his bland record, I was one to not jump on the “Hate DA” bandwagon.

He’s not been sitting idle. He’s been trying to make changes within the organization to address areas of need. If it’s still not successful, then that’s on him - but for now, he’s doing what head coaches are supposed to do.

What made me a little optimistic in DA’s ability to right the ship is he did keep trying to address obvious problem areas on the team. A lot of truly bad HCs will never try to make adjustments or make dramatic changes. He was willing to make big coaching changes on both sides of the ball. He’s also not a meddler. He lets Kubiak run the offense. He doesn’t seem to have a massive ego that crippled his leadership ability.

He got rightfully crucified for doubling down on Pete. He's equally right at cutting the cancer out and getting what this team exactly needs, Klint Kubiak.

Neither of these are mutually exclusive. One decision rightfully should of gotten him fired. The other rightfully saved his job.

Just for clarification, 3 of 5 positions on the OL feature new starters. 2 of those players weren’t on the roster last season. Penning, who didn’t play a lot of last year, has moved to RT, replacing Ramczyk.

I think Patrick has been a big (good) change on the line as well.

Thankful.

Same here, I was critical of Allen and Carr was frustrating.
Right now I am so proud of the entire team, from the coaches, players down to the equipment crew and everybody else. They seemed well prepared, organized and ready to play.
I know it's a long season but I am over the moon right now.

That's where I have always been on DA. I felt he was a very good DC, but I thought keeping Carmichael was a fireable offense after the first year. I was willing to give it one year, but the move should have been made in the second year. I know that they wanted Liam Cohen back then who turned down the job and they kept Carmichael, but there had to be other options out there that were better than Carmichael.

I also questioned how good of a leader he is. But he seems to have made strides in that regard with Demario, Cam, and Kamara all bought in and Michael Thomas moving on also seems to have helped the locker room regardless of if you think MT was right about his comments or not. Of course, winning makes a lot of guys buy in.

But he did finally make the right move at OC and it is paying dividends so he has earned some respect.
