I wasn't correcting you - I somehow missed that it was there.
My wife and I had a little terrier-whippet mix for almost eighteen years that we adopted from a shelter. Just the easiest dog to have around. All she needed was to be with her people. Didn't care about toys or playing. She chewed up a shoe and a sandal the first night I brought her home. I fussed at her and that was that. Literally never another chewing incident. She'd run around the yard a little, bark at birds and squirrels, and then wait at the door until she could come back inside and take up a spot on the couch. She'd lay in the office while I worked and I'd occasionally catch her just staring at me, sweet contented look on her face. One of the hardest moments of my life was saying goodbye to her. That's when I first learned of that quote, and the simple truth of it has stuck with me.
All good.. and yeah, they all have such interesting , different personalities.. this hurts so bad that i cant imagine having to go thru it ever again.. ive heard people say that before when we’ve talked about losing pets and why they never got another - now i get it .
