I know this will not be a popular post, but I absolutely think they have the makings of a super bowl team.

Forget your personal feelings toward them.......

Cam is throwing the ball very accurately and with tremendous zip.....regardless of his odd angles in the pocket.

Cam has great 3rd down numbers.

Problem is, if/when Cam finally shows heavy signs of faltering, if you tell me that I have to count on Stewart being the next man to start making plays and shoulder the team...

The Panthers are being led down a very nice, well paved road to the playoffs. Cam has shown periods where he throws the ball very accurately, but he also is still young and prone to cold spells where he makes bad throws, hence the 3 interceptions last night.

The Eagles have any consistency on offense, that game runs out of Carolina's game script quick and then Cam would be running for his life to stay undefeated.

What they've done so far this season is great, don't get me wrong, but to call their performances even remotely close to showing anything resembling a Super Bowl caliber team?

Let see what happens when they face the Packers in two weeks.

So a Panther fan that I have dealings with just couldn't leave well enough alone. After every Saints loss, he sends an e-mail about "how bad they are" or "they should just pack it in". At the same time, he constantly boasts about the Panthers and how great they are. I would either send back a nice, professional e-mail back or not respond at all.

Well, today, he sends an e-mail that says 6-0 with a Cam Newton photo doing his first down pose.

All 6-0 means is that they won't be finishing 5-11 or worse. What Panthers fans fail to realize is that it's nice to go undefeated, but it isn't how you start, it's how you finish that matters. No trophies have EVER been awarded during the regular season in the entire history of the NFL. EVER! And someone correct me if I'm wrong, but football is a TEAM sport, and I can't remember any team ever winning the SB with a "me" QB. And if there was ever a "me" QB, I think his name is Cam!

If that doesn't do it for ya, a few years ago, the only team in NFL history to end the regular season 16-0 ended up 18-1. Know what they got? It wasn't a trophy...it was the 31st pick in the draft. Also a few years back, a certain team finished the season on a hot streak, ending up 9-7 and sneaking into the playoffs. Played every playoff game on the road, ran the table to end up 13-7 and hoisted the Lombardi.

The Panthers remain on track for the former, while the Saints are still on a pace for the latter.

Cam has great 3rd down numbers.

Separating DWill and Stewart and letting JS be the man was a very wise decision. He is a load.

Olsen is tough for anyone to handle.

If they had Benjamin, this would be a very scary group.

The D has two of the best linebackers in the game.

The corners are scoring extremely high each week.

I thought by losing Benjamin, they'd struggle, but Cam is playing well.

Often times it isn't pretty but he's doing what it takes.

Going into Seattle (don't care what their record is...) is always a tough game.

They won...and came inches away from winning there in the playoffs last season.

I can't stand the Panthers, but looking at it realistically, they are as much a "Super Bowl" team as anyone.

The Falcons, while 6-1, aren't even close. No line....Ryan developing happy feet, D has lots of holes........this is a case where similar records do not tell similar stories.

Keuchley is a beast and I wish we had him on our team. Other than him, the rest are OK. Cam will show his true colors soon enough.

Panthers fans are in for a REAL fun ride when they make the playoffs and are decimated in the first game. They are not even close to a SB caliber team.

They are 6-0 and have won the division the past 2 years. Even though they haven't won a ring, I got to respect they're on an upswing as a franchise. Cam is not in the elite qb discussion yet, but he keeps getting it done.
