Also, if he's not ready for week 1, do they put him on short-term IR instead of Kendre Miller?

No one will sign him to their 53. But, he can choose to sign on with another teams practice squad.

The Saints need to find a way to keep Tipton. He is the only receiver behind Olave and Shaheed with speed.

If he's healthy, keep him on the 53. If not, designate him IR with return rights.

I think he not only makes the roster, but will be a big contributor. Especially since Means had the drops bad yesterday. Means to the PS.

Yep. Teams generally aren’t interested in other team’s mostly unproven RBs and WRs who don’t know their system occupying an active roster spot in week 1…especially WR, a very nuanced, system-centric position.

I mean that's all draft info on him. No other team has seen him on the field against NFL players since he didn't play in the preseason. In addition, no other NFL team knows what his injury situation is. Other teams are not likely to pick up a guy on waivers that they is likely not healthy enough to play and that they have not seen on the field against NFL players.

Maybe another team would try to sign him to their practice squad after he clears waivers, but I would think we would have to inside track to sign him to the PS.

I mean, Tipton hasn't even set foot on the field against another team. I'm not sure how you make the 53 based on two good weeks in camp and nothing else.
