Help Me Understand Bobby Hebert (1 Viewer)

Geographic location isn’t the factor. It’s the coaches, from middle school to college.

There's no logic or science behind what he or you are attempting to convey. Where a player goes to college has no bearing on how tough a player is, or how they behave in the NFL. It's just some weird SEC infatuation, fella.

Yep. I mean certainly environment has some effect on who a person is, but it's impossible to predict how each individual will react to that environment. Drug dealers and doctors can come from the same place. It's all how each individual reacts.

And, in the case of college football programs, it's not like OSU is vastly different culture wise from Alabama, LSU, Georgia, Florida, Texas, Oklahoma, USC, etc. These are all high profile programs that have "attitude". I mean who has more attitude than Alabama and LSU players? I mean Joe Burrow is all about swag. And the dude grew up in Ohio and played for both LSU and tOSU.

The truth is that all people are a result of their genetics and environment but you never know how a specific individual will turn out based on those factors. Moreover, it's impossible to know what each person's specific environmental influences were, much less all of their genetics. Psychology itself isn't a hard science and trying to categorize people based on their environment is pseudoscience do your own research at best.

Just a few moments ago, Bobby said that Lattimore is a problem because he went to Ohio State and is therefore a prima donna, like Michael Thomas. Adebo is from "the left coast," so he's got issues at CB. McKinstry, though, is from the south and so he understands teamwork and toughness. WHAT THE HECK IS BOBBY TALKING ABOUT? Do normal people think like this? Is this a common sentiment down the bayou?
I'll bet Alabama had more discipline than OSU

It’s the nature vs nurture process that details a person’s environment will determine the type of player they are as team mates, professionals, etc.

I cannot say he isn’t wrong as the more you interact with people across the country, the more one will see the cultural differences. Demographics, nuclear families, different coaches, etc. will all feed into the environment and thus create a player with values (good or bad).

Objectively look at the players drafted from OSU and you’ll see extremely gifted players with horrid attitudes (eg. Michael Thomas and Marshon Lattimore). Chris Olave’s body language is poor and often times appears as if he is pouting. That’s ok as a rookie but you’re a third year professional.

There is actually reason behind his position, but the means of communication is…well, it’s Bobby Hebert.
What are some examples of Lattimore having a “horrid attitude”?

Now you’re getting into heuristics (mental shortcuts to solve complex problems in a short time frame) which I could definitely see Bobby Hebert using to as a means to help his feeble understanding of social sciences whether he realizes he is doing it or not.

All I’m saying is I understand what he is trying to say and cannot really disagree with the sentiment.
Hey,
A new word for Saints Nation:

"fleuristics"
Mental shortcuts used by Saints
fans to solve complex team
problems in a short time frame.

Who Dat!!

Bobby is from Cutoff. CUT OFF. But no, if you give folks from this area space to talk, you will be rewarded. No one in the world I'd rather hear discuss a Saints thrashing of the Cowboys, except maybe someone from Chackbay, and we actually had a Cutoff-Chackbay discussion on his show just now... It's like Christmas.

Just read a quote from DA that he, not Latt, decided not to play Latt today to prevent risking losing him for future games. DA said that Latt was not happy with DA's decision. I don't think there is any proof that Latt did not want to play. Bobby needs to check his opinions at the door, but then you might not listen. He's not a reporter or analyst, just a personality.

Let's enjoy the win and look forward to the next one!
