High Mileage (3 Viewers)

I know this doesn't qualify but almost 100k on my 2010 4runner. Really would like to get to 3-400k out of her.

it's the amount of miles accumulated on a car driving mostly to and from election centers to determine ad valorem applications

your post caused my sarcasm detector to explode. you owe me a new one

currently I have a 2016 Genesis with 27k miles. I don't get to keep vehicles very long because people like to ram their cars into me

If you can ever get one up over 200k they become virtually unhittable.

I had a used '79 datsun B210. It had a well over 200k when i finally got rid of it. A buddy of mine in high school had it before before me, and it briefly had a nitrous system, beefed up suspension, and high performance exhaust (all his doing). Was a lot of fun to drive. Carburater float was problematic - the car tended to die while pulling a hard left turn, I'd glide through and pop the clutch on the exit, and keep driving. We rebuilt that carb many times but never could solve the problem.

does that work if I buy one that has 200k? or do I have to put the work in myself?

Nope, you have to get it to a point to where you're hoping someone else finally puts it to rest. That takes years of hard work, greasy hands & vanishing dollars.

the insidious shadow organization that has targeted me for death by auto accident will never let that happen

I used to have a '81 Datsun MVP King Cab & loved that little truck. My freshman year in college, I was on my way to school and some idiot hot-dogging his girlfriend's Camaro in order to impress his friends t-boned me. Still the worst accident I've ever been in. The two jump seats in the back were touching each other. Had he hit just a second sooner, my wife-to-be probably wouldn't have survived it.

I eventually replaced that truck with an '89 Hardbody. Another great little truck with over 200k miles that I sold to a friend when I needed back seats for the baby on the way. That truck would probably still be kicking had Katrina not laid a house on top of it. :(
