Jean-Baptiste was on the roster his rookie year, but was inactive for a lot of games. I think for the Saints it's guys like Pittman or Al Woods, 4th rounders who didn't make it. I don't think you'll find anyone higher than that cut from a team purely for performance-related reasons in their rookie season. It would either be severe injury or personal issues (Dimitrius Underwood, a 1st rounder, leaving the Vikings b/c of religious reasons....look up the guy's Wikipedia, it's wild).

He had more surgery on the knee and missed the entire 1967 season. He failed to make the team in 1968, and his professional football career was over.
