Hot Takes Welcome (Post Packers Loss) (12 Viewers)

Looking forward to the days when we don't have to watch Mathieu play for this team. He's been a zero-effort embarrassment since day one and I think it's a disgrace that he wears a C on his chest.
Kool-Aid McKinistry couldn't start for most Pop Warner teams. Flat footed, can't tackle, waits for runners to come to him, allows people across his face, couldn't cover a baby with a blanket. Plays disinterested, thinks he is Revis Island when in actuality he is more like Jason David. Good call on Mathieu, he has very similar traits, only concerned with getting paid and taking that money to the bank. Alonzo Taylor is highly overrated as well.

I'm gonna hold off on Rattler right now. No weapons whatsoever. He has a lot of growing to do as a NFL QB, but I would like to see him with a full supporting cast. Not saying he's the answer by any means, but this is just a bad team right now.
Rattler is not IT. I understand lack of talent around him (we want to make every excuse in the world for him) and he has some talent skill wise, but his decision making at times, almost seems like he just says what the hell and forces things that just aren't there. He has missed wide open WRs, (I understand he has had a lot of drops as well). Doesn't know how to touch throw the ball to the open WR, everything has to be 100 mph. A lot of his balls are high, setting up WRs. Doesn't always know down and distance, the two point conversion last week just wasn't there and forced it by making a bad play call even worse. Great QBs see the entire field or have the ability to improvise. It looked Austin, Jr. was open in the back of the end zone on the 2 pt. play and Rattler just didn't see him. Seems to be a common theme, lacks of touch on short to intermediate throws. He is not a Joe Burrow, Jayden Daniels, C. J. Stroud, Jalen Hurts, etc. He might make a good back-up in time like a Jameis WInston. We need a difference maker.

I always liked the Jim Finks approach to drafting when you have a big need. Draft at least four players and it’s likely at least one will work out.
Okay so this year we have so many needs everywhere it may not be viable but just look at how Finks nailed 86 and 87.

86 - need a running back.
Rd 2 Hilliard
Rd 3 Mayes
Rd 3 Word
Rd 7 Fenerty
Possibly the greatest RB haul in a single draft in history….

87 need DB depth
Rd 3 Adams
Rd 5 Mack
Rd 7 Atkins
Rd 8 Cook
Pretty decent return here for relatively low investment.

Got a problem area. Draft the hell out of it

Time for tough love I’m afraid….

1. We are not one push away from the playoffs anymore so we can finally dump that terrible kick the can strategy.

2. Say goodbye to the vets who have served the club so well but have run out of steam

3. Sort out the salary cap long term even if it means going. 1-16 next year.

4. Stockpile some draft picks wherever possible

5. Stop drafting athletic freaks like Davenport and Penning who are far too raw and inexperienced at top level to make a difference during the length of their contract and take guys who have proven they can actually play week in and week out at top level in college.

6. Hire a coach who can create an identity as a team….angry underdogs who have a point to prove would be good.

7. Stop wasting valuable draft picks for trade ups in the draft almost every year. Unless it’s for a QB

8. Ride the misery wave for a year and start the rebuild with fired up young drafted players over the next two years, so we have some potential stars by 2026.

That’d be a start

The most expensive and least impactful players will all be another year older next season.
We addressed Coaching accountability a few games ago. When this season ends, player accountability must also be addressed.

I don't care about backup's. That s**t was embarrassing!!

Darren Rizzi just took his name off the head coaching candidates.

The Saints DO NOT have a franchise QB in the building.

Mickey Loomis NEEDS TO BE FIRED at the end of the season.

The Saints need to trade as many players as they can, Kamara, Carr, Olave included as they need a complete restart.

Aaron Glenn is not the answer as this franchise needs to wipe away ALL THINGS Sean Payton. That culture is gone.

The Saints will not win another game this year.

The Saints will finish last in the NFC South.

Merry Christmas.........

GM accountability is the overarching problem. These players didn’t build this roster. They didnt hire this coaching staff or the last one. They didn’t trade away picks. Or put us 80-100 million over the cap to lose double digit games 2 out of 3 years. Or make the bad draft picks. This begins and ends at this point with Loomis. Thank him for the best 15 years in Saints history, and move him out of operations, or out the building altogether. We haven’t been to the playoffs in 4 years, and we are at the lowest point since the Katrina year.

We changed the QB in year 1, and we didnt get better.
We changed a lot of the coaching staff in year 2, and we didnt get better.
We changed the OC in year 3, and we didnt get better.
We changed the head coach midway through year 3, and we didnt get better. (Rizzi hasn’t beat anyone Allen wouldn’t have, and beat 3 doormats)

So QB - assistant coach overhaul - OC - HC…………GM is next.

Lack of effort due to elimination playing a team trying to clinch

Interior oline needs work first , center is now a concern after being a lock before the season

Any qb/rb will be what we have till ioline is what it was when we were competitive

High draft pick can be allocated to one player by the time we are coming around draft choices maybe coming FA

So no sexy draft, could spend every pick on interior OL/dl

I agree on everything you said, but what you said is every description of a rookie. We aren't getting a QB in the 1st, not enough to choose from, but you are going to get the same thing from another rookie. Like I said, not saying he is it by any means, just would like to see him with a better chance

I stopped watching after I saw Honey Badger not bother getting involved in the gang tackle on Jacobs when he scored. He just stood there and threw his hands up like he couldn't possibly do anything.
Mathieu showed his age last night. Just doesn't have it anymore. We are paying too many old guys.
