Mike Gesicki is likely one of the most underrated TEs in the NFL. He’s not an in-line TE, but he’s a great outside TE with incredible hands. He pretty easily has the lowest drop rate at the position over the past few seasons (unlike someone else…cough). I hate to compare anyone to Jimmy Graham, but Gesicki is truly one of the very few current guys who can make a comparison without getting laughed at. He’s a RAS monster…top five since the combine was created.

Not only does he has the elite metrics, he shows it on the field. Very fluid, as I said, catches everything, and can run away from defenders.

Trautman is much more of an in-line option, so I think they’d complement each other well. The Dolphins may not trade him. But he doesn’t fit their offense very well…with the Dolphins likely to send the ball down the field more than average. He was already underutilized before the addition of Tyreek Hill. There have also been rumors that contract negotiations have broke down and he can potentially be traded. Now…there are other factors at play, like do the Saints have any pieces to trade and do they have the cap to do it? But if they do…he’s a guy who can be the difference between playoffs and no playoffs, or an early playoff exit and making a playoff run.

Miami is not letting him go. I was talking to a Dolphin fan not to long ago and I told him how much I liked Mike Gesicki and Jerome Baker and that Saints should have poached one of them a couple of years ago when Miami had that fire sale, but not its not happening, Miami is well aware of their value now.

I don't agree with your point that Gesicki does not fit their new offense. He actually may increase the volume of receptions since the middle of the field will be more open to him. Just look at the value that George Kittle has with the niners.

Anyways, I sincerely doubt the dolphins will trade him.

They're not letting him go after tagging him for this season. I've been stumping for him for a while, but I can't see them letting him get away without a fight.

Miami has too much invested in thier team. They arr clearly in a win now mode

It does seem like they're in win-now mode, which is crazy for a team that has proven little to nothing from a coaching metric and has a massive question mark at QB.

I think that they are in win now mode exactly for that reason. They have to give Tua every opportunity to prove he’s not a bust…especially with the stacked 2023 QB forthcoming. I don’t think that they would trade him…but bad organizations make bad decisions. I know too well after watching lots of 80s-90s Saints football.

Gesicki isn't going anywhere. I'm actually good with Hill, Johnson and Trautman at this point. I want to see what Krull can do also.

Miami is reportedly trying to trade Gesicki
Yeah he doesn’t fit what they’re trying to do down here.

They want to run the ball and create explosive plays. Gesicki is really good at what he does. But he’s a horrible blocker for a TE (unlike Kittle) and if you make him a full-time WR, it’s one less target for Tyreek, Waddle, etc.

Don’t think he’d fit the Saints for the same reasons. Not at $11 million. He’d be a solid RZ target. But there’s only one ball to go around with AK, MT, Olave, Landry, Taysom, etc.
