LOL so you're comparing a 10 yr+ QB that has had double digit HCs and OCs with different systems to a guy that had the same HC for all but 1 of his 5 yrs in the league and his current HC is running his own offensive system the same one that has been run for the last 4 yrs. That's ridiculous , even for you
He's an 11-year veteran who's never been to the playoffs, and all ya'll do is make excuses for him like he's a rook. Hurts has had a different OC every year and two HCs. He has always had an upward trend. Some guys show who they are from the start, and others don't. Some guys fall into the Sam Darnold or Alex Smith category. You decide where Carr falls. :ROFLMAO: Carr could have a decent year, but he's not elite or the long-term answer for this team.

That was his second Super Bowl and not the year he finished second in MVP voting. Keep trying.
The consensus among coaches, former coaches and all the others that people hold credible was that Hurts played better more consistently last year than any other year.

You're like a member of a jury that wants to vote guilty before the trial has even started. Have some patience and let it play out.

Your very first sentence is incorrect but keep talking like you know anything about this sport

I mean Jalen Hurts in 2022 was pretty electric. I personally think he played better then than last season. Barkley and that defense made life much easier for him last season. Hurts carried that team in 2022 in my opinion.

Coaches value consistency very highly and Hurts had his most consistent season last year. Fans value electric plays higher than consistency.

Carr has made a lot of electric plays in his career. He made a bunch last year. If Moore can get Carr to be more consistent, then Carr and the offense should improve this year.

Boy you really twist things around. I didn't say he made a few electric plays. He was overall electric, i.e. MVP-caliber. Like Patrick Mahomes is electric. Maybe he was a better game-managing QB last year, I don't know, but he carried his team more in 2022. In simpler terms, he was more of the reason why they won in 2022 versus 2024.

Also, I wouldn't say Carr made "a bunch" of electric plays last year. He made a few, and he certainly never carried his team.

No we aren’t. We’ll be cap compliant next year or close to it. So we can designate Carr as June 1 and pay $35 over two years. But maybe he’ll be good this year!? Let’s just hope for that

He was pretty good last year when he wasn't hobbled or on the bench.

Brees good, hell no, but certainly good enough to win and has an arm to take advantage of the tools we've got outside.

You're the one twisting things around. I didn't say Hurts only made a few electric plays that year.

I said that coaches and former coaches have said that last year was his best year he played consistently better last year than any previous year. He made a lot less really bad plays this past year than he did in that year or any other. Coaches place a really high value on that kind of consistency.

If Moore can get Carr to be more consistent, then Carr and the offense should improve this year.

I’ll give you four:

1) More contracts for other players will expire, decreasing the excess cap the team will open the new season with. That’s been a nine-figure number in years past but not this time around and will be even lower next season.

2) The salary cap will grow by another eight figures. It’s happened after every year since the loss taken in the Covid season, and three of those jumps were over $20 million. The 2026 salary cap may well exceed $300 million. It got to $100 million in 2006 and $200 million in 2022. Talk about growth!

3) more of his contract will have been paid to him, meaning the hook number will be less.

4) If the Saints cut him now, they’d have to restructure a host of players to get barely cap compliant this year, would be absent in free agency, and may have to offload this year’s draft picks due to an inability to sign them. This team has to build through the draft. Cutting him now takes both of those options (a healthy draft and some free agent exploration) off the table.
