Sundays win vs the Falcons was a breath of fresh air, and a reminder of God’s love for us. With that win we once again have hope in a coach who has never really been an option for anyone’s head coaching job, and in players that many thought were too old or not good enough to get the job done.

We want a winner, and we want to win now, and there is a chance we can do that now.

With that said, are you at all concerned about the long term ramifications of Rizzi ball today? Meaning, we still have deficiencies across this roster, and an upgrade of talent is necessary if we want to get to another Lombardi. One way of doing that is through the draft, and having higher draft picks raises the chances of hitting on quality talent.

So are you conflicted in wanting to win yet also wanting a better set of draft picks?

I myself would love to see us win out and find a way into the playoffs, but at the same time I would love to see us get assets in the draft that we can use to build a better team (either through drafting players, or trading picks for players who can help us win).

I'm conflicted entirely. I'm hoping we land in a place where we can snag Ashton Jeanty. I don't want a top 5 pick either, because its very hard to find trade partners due to the amount of compensation it takes. I have no problems taking Jeanty that high, and maybe thats where teams will have him on their draft board. If so, I want it.

But I also want to see the team win some games, get the spark of fight back in em for next year.

Win out and sneak into the playoffs? Absolutely 100 times over a high draft pick

But I'd rather draft in the top 5 than win 3 "moral victories"

I’m a season ticket holder that drives 7 hours round trip, pays for hotel rooms, meals, gas, etc. I want to see wins. Not conflicted at all. I’m sure a fan sitting on their couch half way across the country has a different opinion.
I want to see wins. Want to see what exactly do we have on this team. I’m in the minority that we have talent on this team, despite injuries.

along for the ride.

saints football no longer controls my sundays this year. if i dont have anything else to do around the house ill sit and watch. sunday i had it on and i was cutting some trim and touch up paint in spots. it was on in the background and id walk by and take a look. but its no longer a "cant do anything between 12-3" type of season.

that said. i did watch most of the 4th quarter cause i was enjoying rizzi's fire and wanted to see if saints could upset the falcons. its always a good week when saints beat falcons.

Your organisation and everyone in it has to believe in your culture, of which winning games is the primary goal.

Any deviation from that encourages an acceptance of the behaviour of doing less than your best, which in turn undermines and eventually destroys that culture you need for success.

And on a practical note, teams are very good at choosing terrible players high in the draft, while teams lower in the draft order are very good at choosing excellent players. Spurious 1st round examples include TJ Watt taken 30th overall, Lamar Jackson 32nd.

It's a combo of draft picks and this franchise needing a new era and culture of competent coaching and a new boss in charge. I don't want any chance of false foolings thinking rizzi can be the guy for the next 10 years.

I'm along for the ride and have been for 40 years.

I look at it this way. I have zero control over what the Saints do. What plays they run, free agency, the draft, all of it. The only thing that I can control is my Sunday’s and my emotions watching them play. I want to be entertained. I want them to win. I want to have fun and the past Sunday was fun! And for me, the draft is such a luck of the draw and nothing is guaranteed. The Saints could tank, get the first pick and that player could be a total bust. Then the Saints are right back to square one. Look at the Bears. Caleb Williams was supposed to be the best player in the draft. Taken number one. The man! He is struggling, his teammates clearly don’t like him and he is being set up to fail. Free agency is the same way. It’s a crapshoot.

I have, do and will always want the Saints to win, draft or no draft consequences. Conflict free on this side.......
