How many carries for Latavius Murray now that AK41 is returning to lineup? (1 Viewer)

It should be the way it was when Ingram was here. Murray has earned the trust of Coach Payton to get more Carrie's. I want more plays with both of them on the field.

20+. Murray is the type of back that can beat a defense up with 20+ carries. That will give Alvin the rest he need to get more explosive later the game goes on.

I think it was always the plan for Murray to have more touches than he had in the first few games. I think he may still have been being integrated into the offense early on. And IIRC, he finished preseason sorta dinged.

Going forward, I think AK will have more touches than Murray, but not by a huge margin. I also think there might be a game or two along the way where Murray is more of the focal point in the game plan and gets a touch or two more than Kamara.

Ak's use is probably going to be a lot more limited than early in the season with Murray up to speed. I think his use will be game situation depended. Will probably get a lot of calls in scripted plays then in key 3rd downs and tight games. Think his number of runs and touches will go down. Murray has looked really good but he isn't cutting into AK's playing time for that reason. Murray looking so good has given us the luxury to minimize wear and tear on AK down the stretch. In the playoffs he'll be a work horse.

This wont be popular but I think AK will have some contract issues that will play out after the season. Pretty sure we will see a hungry beast in the playoffs first though.

I really hope we see more 2 back sets this 2nd half of the season. I think that would be lethal

I would like to see Washington get lots of carries late in the game, if you know what I mean--and I DON'T mean because LM or AK gets injured.

It could also have been an issue of Murray not having fully learned all of his responsibilities in this complicated offense that kept him off the field early in the season. I doubt Payton would have kept him on the sidelines if he was capable of doing what Ingram did the past couple years alongside AK. Now that he obviously has it all down pat, I think it'll be just like Thunder and Lightning was last year from here on out.
Yeah i thought about that but I can't buy it. This is a saavy veteran we are talking about here, not some rookie trying to break in.

I think Sean Payton would admit he wouldn't have relied on Kamara almost exclusively out of the backfield if he had to do it all over again.

At least 15-18 touches.
Ingram averaged around 13 carries a game since Kamara arrived on the scene.

Murray averaged 5 carries a game in the first 6 games before Kamara was injured.

So if we get can him to that 13 carry mark average plus 2-3 receptions a game, we are right at your projection.

I’d prefer to work him back in slowly since Murray is doing well. After that, I honestly don’t know. Payton’s gonna have to figure out how to use them both, just like when we had Ingram. I’d like to see it become pretty balanced between the two.

I came back to this thread to post almost the exact same thing... I really (really) hope to see a good bit of AK and Murray on the field at the same time!
I also hope to see Taysom Hill join them some too when 41 & 28 are on the field... Hill could be all over the formation in those situations; even at QB!

Keep Murray pounding that weak D line. Let our boys lean on them and tire them out. Beat the will to win out of them. Then it's Cat Daddy time. 250 yards on the ground.
