Yuck. Not a fan of Will as a franchise LT.This brings up a question. What do you think of Will Campbell? Seems to likely be the best

I don't know what happened with Campell this season, but it definitely wasn't his best performance for someone wanting to go in the first round of the draft. He only gave up 1 sack and 9 pressures according to PFF (I don't have full access so maybe someone who does can access his grades) but he did seem to have a high number of penalties (false starts & holding) this season compared to the past 2. I would really love to see him and Jones come back for their senior seasons but they are both slated as 1st or high 2nd rd picks so I highly doubt they stay.
I do think Campbell will do well in the NFL and have a long successful career. I guess a lot will depend on how our future coaching staff evaluates Penning on if we need to draft another OT. Personally, with the way Fuaga has played at LT, I'd rather draft Emory Jones to place at RT if they want to replace Penning.

He was... fine. Definitely did not play like a top 10 pick.I thought he was not good at LSU this year, but maybe it was just a down year or the scheme was bad. I'm not a fan of Kelly's run scheme and I also think Nuss has a tendency to hold the ball too long and doesn't step up in the pocket which hurts how Campbell looked. But, I honestly have not taken a close look at Campbell.
Not really. I vividly remember watching Armstead for the first time back in 2013. All it took was 2 quarter, and I called my father and told him that we found our next Willie Roaf.comparing a rookie LT to a HOFer is crazy lmao
Is this your attempt at sarcasm ??If he stays healthy…Hall of Famer, one of the greatest Saints of all-time.
He’s turning in perfect game after perfect game, as a rookie, playing a new position…he has the gift.
After the epic stinker Charles Brown put up in the 2013 Rams game, I was right and ready for a change. By halftime I was thinking “this team could make a Super Bowl push from the 6 seed.” I was that confident in Terron Armstead. Not really. Concerning Fuaga, i'd move him back to RT if possible. I don't know what Peat is up to these days, but i'd bring him back and let him play LT and keep Penning for backup.
Both Evan’s and Nicks were OTs, we should be looking for that in the draft. OTs are usually the most athletic linemen and we need athletes. There are a few legitimate guards in this draft but we need to uncover some OTs to use as guard. Then in a pinch you have backups for Fuaga or Penning.I don't get off much into analytics, but anyone can see he was the best lineman we had out of everyone healthy enough to play consistently. I just got done in another thread posting we seem to be good now at tackle (Fuaga and Penning) and more than good at center (McCoy when healthy). Now we need some studs at guard. When the previous era on offense was at its best, it was mostly due to the guards (Evans and Nicks).
