I always tell myself not to let football ruin my day but - (1 Viewer)

This one has me feeling extra sad. Going to try and let it not make the week a bummer. I should know better by now after 30+ years watching this team lol
I’ve not been that way for many years but I get it. Wish I could go back and change the fact that I was an idiot over the team for so many decades: it would ruin my whole week, and that is so stupid. Pure ignorance and I was guilty of it for decades. Thankful I’ve put that behind me.

Same here. I don't take it as serious as I used to. At some point I determined it just didn't matter that much to me to let a game ruin my day or several days. I want them to win and it sucks when they lose but I have zero control over it and in the grand scheme of things it just doesn't matter.

Ha, me too. I’ll be fine by tomorrow but man I would let this team dictate my mood for years.

This was just a particularly gut wrenching loss- we will be fine

Right- and I’m sure the saints don’t care about how we perform at work or in our own goals in life.

Love watching these guys and won’t miss a game, but We don’t play for the team lol

It will be OK. The Saints are still a fun team to watch through four games and I’m looking forward to the rest of the season.
Compared to the last few years, they’ve been far more enjoyable thus far

I didn't let myself buy into the first two games too much. I thought this was a 7-10 team all offseason. Having a healthy skepticism about the seasons prospects helps games like the last two go down easier.

Agreed, these last two weeks have been rough and even gotten my BP a little up and that doesn’t happen to me much the last few years.

Who Dat.

Even though the Saints have won the great majority of games vs the Falcons this century, I'm old enough to remember some awful stretches where the Falcons, the Saints biggest rival, had their number. Of course, the Lombardi year helped put that mostly aside! But a last second Falcons loss where the Saints outgained them, the Saints' QB outplayed his counterpart despite facing more pressure, but basically, freak plays, mistakes and a 58 yard field goal led to a loss . . . that stings.

I'm with you on this. Still a Saints fan since 1979 but not nearly as emotionally invested as I used to be. I am emotionally and physically healthier for it today. Close game that we lost which sucks, but then went outside and changed my outdoor patio light fixtures - felt accomplished. All good.

So you are a 30+ year fan just as I and many are on here. So let me ask, and be honest, did you really feel after we scored the go ahead TD that we would win? I didn't. Seen it coming. So that's how it doesn't ruin my day because as a Saint fan you should have the foresight to see that coming.

Nope. I wanted to take 3 stright knees and go for the TD on 4th. Figured it would be the ONLY chance we could take enough time off the clock to actually have a chance to hold out on Def.

It's going to be a bad week. I'm convinced the team will be fine, but that's not helping. I guess this is the karmic price for how much I enjoyed crushing Dallas, in which case, worth it. Like Younghoe Koo is getting us back for Morten Andersen. If he beats us again, look for us to sign him.
