I Don't Think Many People Want Our OC Position (3 Viewers)

If coaches are turning us down, then this is the reason why.

What aspiring coach would hypothetically go to a team that will have a coaching change in a year?
Dave Caneles came to Tampa when Bowles was on the hot seat.

I wonder if some of you know what it means to be an aspiring coach because if you did you'd realize that ego, motivation, and desire to prove you're the next great coach is exactly why an up and comer goes to a place that deluded fans think is no good.

it's exactly why CSP ended up here in the first place.

Do you remember the state of the Saints in 06 of have you all forgotten?

Isn't the guy in Chicago on the hot seat? A highly coveted OC Shane Waldron took the job.
They have 2 picks in the top 10 and one of those picks is going to be used on one of the most highly rated QB prospects we’ve seen. Hardly a comparable situation.

Not really, hot seat is the hot seat regardless. Picks don't have nothing to with it.

It’s very comparable. Eberflus was much closer to being fired than DA. And picks are no sure thing. Carolina had the top pick and whiffed and everyone got fired.

The Saints made it public that they were going to interview Kubiak and Griese, so it seems clear that they are waiting until after the conference championship games. It would actually be strange if they’d make a hire before then.
This!

I think one of these guys is the primary target for the Saints OC. I would expect a decision to be announced before the end of next week at the latest. Typically, the senior bowl is the unofficial gathering spot for all position coaches looking for a job and with every NFL team having their scouting departments there those contacts are made, interviews are done, and positon coaches are hired to fill vacancies on staffs. The next 10 days should have a lot of activity take place here and elsewhere.

Well they absolutely do when one of them is being used on a QB. Waldron is about to get to work with someone who a lot of people think will be elite very quickly. I can only assume you’re being deliberately obtuse if you’re seriously trying to say that the QB doesn’t have a huge impact on a decision to go somewhere where the HC is on the hot seat.

Anyway, I’ve not seen a single person suggest that we’re an unattractive destination purely because DA is on the hot seat. What’s more appealing, a year getting to mold someone like Caleb Williams, or a year with an average QB like Carr? There’s more scope to show what you can do as a coach with the former.
