For my son who has hydrocephelus, we alternate Tylenol and Ibuprofen every 3 hours. Take tylenol than 3 hours later take ibuprofen and so on and so forth. Take a regular dose each time. It will keep the fever down and doctors told us to do it, I figure if it is OK for him than it is ok for you.
Keep hydrated and you should be fine.

Alternate Tylenol and Motrin every two hours(take tylenol, two hours later take motrin, two hours later take tylenol) Working at an ER like I do, an allergic reaction generally does not include a fever that stays consistent. What it sound like is a bad bacterial infection that should clear up in the next 48-72 hrs. Remember, it generally takes 36-48 hrs for antibiotics to start to really take hold.

What strength Tylenol are you taking? You don't want to take too much. The daily maximum for Tylenol is 4 gms. Sounds like a lot but if you are taking two extra strength Tylenols every 4 hours, you will exceed the daily maximum.

I agree with your dentist, allergic reactions do not typically involve fever. Besides Penicillin and Keflex are closely related so if the penicillin did not cause an allergic reaction then it is unlikley that the Keflex would.

Sounds like you either have a viral infection (in which case antibiotics won't help) or as someone else posted the infection from the abscess has spread. Either way, you should probably see a doctor.

I had to endure a fever 0f 100 to 102 for a three week period (along with a full body rash that looked like the measles) back in September of this year. Made trips to the ER, family doctor and a neurologist before it was all over with. Found out I had a "mild" form of West Nile encephalitis. Most miserable three weeks of my life.

I wouldent think its the flu considering that theres pretty muych nothing else wrong with me other than the fact that I have a fever.Im not stuffed up or coughing or anything like that.
