I have a Patriots question: (1 Viewer)

and the easiest schedule going forward. Pretty nice deal for them. .
I don't know about 'going forward'

From week 9 - 14
@Baltimore
@Philadelphia
Dallas
@Houston
Kansas City

I don't know I can definitely see them losing at least 2 games during that stretch... If you guys really think they are going undefeated through that part of their schedule they must be better than you think.

Going forward would include weeks 7, 8, 15 and 16 also.

Week 7 Jets (0-4)
Week 8 Browns (2-3)
Week 15 Bills (4-1)
Week 16 Dolphins (0-4)

Those opponents are currently 5-12.

The meat of their schedule is weeks 9-14. (Opponents schedule prior to Patriots game)

@Baltimore (3-2) (@Seattle)
@Philadelphia (3-2) (@ Cowboys, @ Bills, Bears)
Dallas (3-2) (Eagles, @ Giants, Vikings, Lions)
@Houston (3-2) (@ Chiefs, @ Colts, Raiders, @ Jaguars, @ Ravens, Colts)
Kansas City (4-1) (Texans, @ Broncos, Packers, Vikings, @ Titans, @ Chargers, Raiders)

It is entirely possible that the Patriots will face no more than two or three teams (four is possible) with records ABOVE .500 the rest of the year. (When they play them. I could easily see the Ravens at .500, the Eagles at .500, the Cowboys should be above .500, Houston might be above .500 by one game, KC will be above .500 and the Bills might still be above .500. They have only played one team above .500 so far this year. By the end of the season, they very likely will have played the easiest schedule in the NFL this year.

I don't know what their final record will be, but I would be STUNNED if they were not the #1 or #2 seed in the AFC.

Somewhere in the 2003 to 2007 or 8 season our division was pretty bad. Not sure of the exact years.

Every team in the South won at least one divisional title during that time. That’s not what is going on in the AFC East. Point being, the Patriots have been able to dominate for years in a non-competitive division. The Bills, Dolphins, and Jets have been perennially bad during this era.

I was just saying if you look at the records of both divisions in those time frames you would see that they are similar. I'm not going to add them up, it really isn't worth the effort from me. The Patriots did what no one in our division was able to do and that is take control of their assigned division. They are a good team. They also tend to get to the playoffs and do what needs to be done to win a championship. If it were just the fact that their division sucks, they would hit the playoffs and get spanked by a better team.

The Patriots do play in (arguably) the worst division in the NFL... but so do their divisional counterparts. That being said, all 4 teams basically play the same schedule with the exception of 2 games. Definitely not a fan of the Pats but I will give credit where it's warranted.
