If Kirk Cousins chooses not to resign with the Redskins after the 2017 season, which one of these teams will try to sign him? (2 Viewers)

If we go 7-9 again I believe he will leave, and I wouldn't blame him in the least. He's too competitive. He's done his part. He'll go to Denver and be a contender.

If we go 7-9 again, I wouldn't be surprised if Drew left (I also wouldn't be surprised if he didn't given his family and business roots that he has here now) . . . but I don't think anyone could blame him.

And frankly, if that's the scenario, I would love to bring in a guy like Cousins to thrive under Payton.

Haven't even started the 2017 season and we are already looking at 2018......wow just wow.

No. We're discussing a specific (non-Saint) player's future. It's relevant because it's clear that he's going to a FA next season. There's not a damn thing wrong with that in July.

1. Payton just signed a large extension. He gets paid either way. No way they pay him and another coach big money.

2. This is true.

3. He has been on a "sinking ship" the past few years and he has gotten paid. I can't see any reason they won't pay him.

4. Brees has said he wants to finish out his career here. I take the man for his word. I think he will retire instead of going somewhere else.

We all know that football is a business, but I believe after following Brees, reading his books, listening to him speak about New Orleans, it's not just about business or rings or stats. This dude cares about the city he represents more so than any other sports figure I can think of. He caught the New Orleans fever, and helped be a part of something so special with Katrina...just don't see him ever playing in a different uniform. I think if the Saints decide it is time to move on, Drew will retire.

I don't know. I don't care for Cousin vertical passing game to be honest at all. There has been a lot of data suggesting that Cousin is quite terrible against against good defenses.

Actually from what I've seen he's been good throwing the ball down the field. Maybe you've got some stats to support he's not good at that but from what I've seen he's pretty solid. As others have said, I think he'd be a really good follow up Drew Brees.

The idea of Brees going out without a fight(retiring due to loyalty and never winning another ring) is just something that does not sit well with me. The saints are probably gonna make the playoffs anyway to squash this because it will be hard to see the media hammer Brees for his loyalty.
