If this is his last regular season game, the duo of Brees/Payton averaged 28.3 points per game (1 Viewer)

My math is that there were 14 playoff games. I wonder what two games are missing

06: 2
09: 3
10: 1
11: 1
13: 2
17: 2
18: 2
19: 1

Or probably discounting 2012, when Payton didn't coach.

100%, 2012... removing that season gives you 212 games together (excluding playoffs). I must have erased that season from my memory.

However, I am getting 6280 points-for for 2006-2020, minus 2012 (https://www.pro-football-reference.com/teams/nor). But I bet those stats include playoff points.

The other side of the equation is average points given up and the differential.

You can't just count them all like that, he missed the last game of 2009, 2018, a game in 2015 after he dinged his shoulder in the game vs Tampa. Then the 9 games he missed these past 2 seasons.

Trust me, I was meticulous in my data gathering.

Adding in the playoff games

6450 points
228 games

28.3 average

I'm going to defer to your expertise here, because make no mistake, I want this to be true!!! :D

In the near future we need a statue of both of them standing over a dead Falcon outside the Superdome with this on a plague

edit: better yet, since we already have a statue of the Gleason block, just put a plaque there. “And so it began and 28.3 would become very important numbers for both”
