Ingram looking forward to playing with Reggie Bush (2 Viewers)

Reggie Bush was way too hyped going into the draft. There was no way he was going to do in the NFL what he did in college. No one was. We should have just hoped for a 1000 all purpose yards a season and 5-7 TDs, which is essentially what he averages.

yes deuce and his pre-twitter, mississippi country boy self handled the situation better than all twittery,

Duece and twitter just doesn't even seem right together does it. Duece makes me think of my older no nothing about computers brother. Dang I miss Duece.

If I was Ingram the first person I would be going to to learn anything about what to expect is Duece.

Duece can help him prepare for what he needs to prepare for for a life in the NFL.

You do know Deuce has a twitter account and tweets often right?

this hype (below) ...and more. I'm sure you remember. :

The point is: Bush is dealing with far less hype than Deuce had to deal with (surrounding the new RB). So there's no reason why Reggie can't step it up and be the mature veteran that brings the "new kid" under his wing ---without fear of being threatened by his arrival.

:gosaints:

Bush didn't look happy at all.

I believe Ingram is a class individual, and will not hesitate to help Reggie improve his football skills.

Jumping into the conversation at the end? Really? My comment was on the first page, so LOL @ that. By head case I mean he comes off like a guy who needs attention and coddling. You didn't see PT making statements on twitter the whole time he was looking for a contract. He never bashed Reggie or the money he was getting. Why? Because he and Bush are two different guys.

My opinion of Bush is he a good guy, does good things for kids and the community but still is prone to making immature statements and speaking before thinks. How many times has Reggie had to say "I'm sorry" for comments he made. It hasn't just been this year. He's a grown man now, 5 years removed from being drafted but he doesn't always act like it. Not to mention we're talking about someone who in the 80 games he has been eligable to play in, he's played in 40. Most guys with that stat would probably be keeping their head down and not trying to cause a stir.

I hope we keep him and I hope he continues to grow up, he just seems to be slow to mature and as of now doesn't strike me as the mentor type. Too young minded still, IMO.

Thats all great but you called the dude a "head case" and nothing you said there reflects a head case so if you're going to insult someone, I'd like to hear your justification...

And I'm not talk about this thread brother.... This conversation has been beaten to death for months and you jump in with "head case" and I'm wondering what he's done to be classified as a "head case".... Terrel Owens is a head case, Chad Johnson is a head case... I made an incredibly inaccurate and short sighted comment and I'm giving you the chance to explain yourself so you don't look clueless to everyone...

as I stated many times, I'm not a fan of Bush, I'm a fan of reasonableness.. So please explain your comments that are seemly irrelevant and off base..

Would you settle for "Reggie isn't a head case, but sometimes he acts like a head case"? I mean, we all do at times, right? :hihi:

I feel I've explained my opinion. To me he's a head case that's prone to lashing out and making stupid statements. If you disagree, cool but doesn't change my opinion.

There isn't a player in NFL history who has coming into the league with more hype than Reggie Bush. The OP is right.

Honestly, this may just be accurate. Payton/Eli Manning are the only ones who comes to mind who might even be close

EVERY year there's another player coming out with a ton of hype...

I don't recall it this past draft but every year there are a couple of "once a decade" player that comes out

No

just at the running back position, Adrian Peterson and Darren McFadden came right behind Bush; neither got the fanfare/hype/ESPN-up-the-tail that Reggie got. Some of that isn't Reggie's fault, because ESPN was ready and all too willing to push all things USC at that time (OU and Arkansas weren't winning invalid games and BCS titles), but still - Reggie was supposed to be not only the best running back, but the best PLAYER to enter the league in the last 5, 10, 20, 25, 30, and 40 years (depending on which publication you read leading up to that draft).

Cam Newton may have approached the hype that Reggie got, but there were several that questioned the validity of making him the #1 overall pick. There were myriad ugly articles written about the Texans' FO when they chose to pass on Reggie. We'll probably never see that type of vitriol directed at a franchise again.
