Injuries on Oline - that’s all the analysis needed (1 Viewer)

Umm...please read my statement more carefully...

So either OL (which I agree with) or TH (which I think is foolish to think he will play an entire season, as he continues to get older)….

This is supposed to be a run first offense and we are running out of options….JW is not effective, waste of a roster spot IMO…..Would like to see the only young RB (Mims) get some touches, because the other consideration is AK getting 25+ touches a game isn’t tenable either IMO….

Then start drafting like it's a priority. Fuaga was a great start. But that needs to be a every year thing. Instead of wasting draft picks trading up why not pick up extra ones in trades and try getting more? Why not go after guys from big schools with histories of sending guys to the pros who succeed?

I Googled it... :Traditionally, University of Alabama, University of Wisconsin, and Ohio State University have been known as "Linemen U" due to the number of successful linemen they've produced who have gone on to NFL careers."

And what is the justification for Peyton Turner taking up roster space still? His spot could have gone to a free agent offensive lineman early in free agency. Just take the loss already. What are the Saints gaining by keeping him on the roster?
Seems like i hear a lot of players from the Iowa area being in the NFL as o lineman.

The point is that Taysom keeps defenses honest. If the offensive line is struggling, line him up under center let him do work. If the OL is not struggling, AK and the passing game can thrive. If the OL is struggling and Taysom is not playing, well, you saw the result Monday night.

I don’t disagree, my point is Taysom’s availability and the notion of depending on a 34 year old ball carrier….

The Iowa Hawkeyes have put 12 OL in the NFL since the 2014 draft, one of whom is Kirk Ferentz’ relative. An active starting 5 of Alaric Jackson, James Daniels, Tyler Linderbaum, Brandon Scherff, and Tristan Wirfs wouldn’t be a bad OL, but I’d stop short of considering them a factory because the depth behind them looks worse than the Saints’ current depth situation.

You have to go back 35 years to find the last semi-prominent Iowa State OL, former Dolphin and Washingtonian Keith Sims.

I'm over the fans/talking heads saying that, the next man up is a pro so there shouldn't be a big dropoff!
If you lose the entire line at Commander's Palace & bring in 2 cooks from McDonald's, 1 from Popeye's, a prep cook from Denny's, the Beignet guy from Cafe du Monde & a dishwasher from Dominoes, are you getting the same meal? I don't care who the Chef or GM is, nothing will be the same!
I hope for the best, but won't blame the coaches, for the next few weeks, no matter how much I cheer from home.

This is the correct analysis. All the national talking heads don’t follow or care about the Saints so their analysis is “we told you Saints would be bad.”
For example Colin Cowherd keeps making excuses for the Rams but totally ignored Saints injuries in Monday Night’s game.
When asked my picks each year for the playoffs and Super Bowl, I say, the good teams with the least injuries.

After Bink's run back, he should be in some packages on offense at FB. Especially in short yardage, either handing it to him or having him block. We could have used him vs that direct snap to Kamara that didn't get anywhere.
