I just read that it's the performance of UDFA ILB Joe Bachie is the reason for Bradham's release. Linebackers Coach Michael Hodges raves about "Bachie's performance and his intelligence (Football IQ), always being at the right place at the right time". "Bachie performs like an NFL Veteran Starter".
That is exciting. Because I pointed out that we have so much quality UDFAs, but my favorite was and is my favorite player after watching his college tape. Bachie was awesome, always in the running back hole, making stops behind the line, and when he hits you that's it no yards after contact. For his size he hits and it looks like it hurt.
So I say Joe Bachie is my favorite camp beast.

Who can argue that? I mean, ever year we keep a couple of UDFAs who ultimately have a big impact on our season?

Harris/Tuttle
JT Gray
Justin Hardee
Pierre Thomas
Wil Lutz
Cameron Tom
Dan Arnold
Chris Banjo

TommyLee Lewis
Willie Snead

This team has an eye for talent.

I'm projecting Bachie as your dirty work linebacker that can just get the job done. Think like Shanle plus. Some may take that as a bad thing but I don't. Especially as a UDFA. It sounds like his know-how, experience at the position and intelligence will get him on the team. I don't see him as a special sideline to sideline athlete but a guy that will be in the right spot at the right time. I'm guessing special teams will be his initial path.

He was definitely my pick of UDFAs to make the team as well.

Still can't believe he was not drafted. We have a good young linebacker group. Zack Baun , Joe Bachie, Kaden Elliss, and Chase Hansen. Hope we can keep them all. Here are a few articles. Ones you are talking about...

Excellent indeed. Perhaps Bachie can become the defense's version of Pierre Thomas, who famously beat out a mid-round draft pick and ran his way into Saints lore forever :giggle:

That means he would have to beat our Baun and Baun gets released. I'd rather he just prove capable of playing at this level and contributing on special teams and eventually gets his chance to compete at MLB next year.

I would add Delvin Breaux. His stay was cut short due to stupid medical staff and SP treating him like crap even after the broken bone was discovered.

In Walter's Football draft he was listed as a 3-5 round prospect. It is suggested he was overlooked because of a PED suspension his senior year. Had a really good 3 cone drill time. 6.93 seconds. 4.67 40.

Very interesting player. Saints really need a thumper on Special Teams. If he can show something on Special Teams, he can make the team. His draft profile just screams Middle Linebacker. He tested out with better athletic ability than many thought he would. Two down Middle Linebackers are usually not drafted high, but he could have easily been a fourth round pick. I think he will make the team and will get some snaps on Defense and be a Special Teams starter and active on game day.
