[Instagram clickbait post with no @ source] on why the Saints HC job is very unwanted currently. [mod edit] (8 Viewers)

This is such common sense, yet some folks refuse to see it. Truly.

It will be all good tho, it’s been worse before imo. Also makes me even more thankful for Sean and Drew, what they did for this team and city.

Oh, the folks working for the team will be here soon to let you know how dumb you are for thinking this way. 😂

Agreed. If we go through a year or 2 of hell I honestly think there's some good pieces that when we have some salary cap room, some good coaches, and hit on some picks, we could have a good team. I mean we almost beat the Eagles

We all know the mess we are in, but I disagree with the article saying we have a “poor ownership group”. Maybe the author of that could explain that one to us a little better.
I agree with you on that, I think Gayle is a fine owner, whoever wrote the Instagram post probably blames her for not firing Loomis though, which makes sense.

I think everything that is written there is likely true, but there is no getting around it. We'll have a head coach in the next couple of weeks and it MAY be a guy who wants to be a head coach in the NFL more than he wants guaranteed success. Or maybe the guy we get has such an ego that he thinks those things can be overcome and he's the one to do it. If you heard Aaron Glenn's introduction for the Jets, you heard that guy loud and clear. He believes he can succeed where others have failed.

We have to hope that the team can get this right despite so many bad recent decisions. It's not that they are incapable of getting it right, it's that a lot of us have lost trust in the decision makers. Throwing around "Make it happen, Loomis" is long gone. He needs to get this right.

I hope we can find a way to turn this franchise around.

That's why this is a two headed HC search because it will affect the Saints PR wise and how people see us. It also (most importantly) needs to be a coach that delivers the goods of a bright future. This is going to be a tall order for anyone, you have
be extremely confident in your abilities. that is a good thing we need nothing less than an overachieving personality.

I stopped reading as soon as they said poor ownership group. Gayle is a top 5 owner in the league.

I get the whole idea everyone wants to fire Loomis, but honestly what does he do wrong? He’s a hands off GM that runs the books and allows his HC to dictate the players he wants. That type of GM is a HC’s dream to work with.

Tom Benson was top 5, what has Gayle done to be seen as Top 5 other than fire DA when Loomis didn't want to. Which is solid argument, but what else. Not saying she's bottom 5 either. Probably somewhere in the middle.

Also, giving a coach everything they want isn't always the best idea.

He may not have the options to. McCarthy has only ever taken over good teams that had cap space and a roster loaded with talent. The one big talent he ever drafted was Aaron Rodgers. But the Packers had good talent all around and loads of cap space.

Moore and Rizzi, we haven't reason to think they can. But like McCarthy, we haven't any reason to believe they can't.

This franchise is a ship headed for a massive rock. We better get a good captain and some strong orman.

The hiring of DC, OC and positional coaches are going to be terribly important. If even one of them are anything less then average it'll be next to impossible to turn the ship.
