[Instagram clickbait post with no @ source] on why the Saints HC job is very unwanted currently. [mod edit] (4 Viewers)

I think we’re viewed a bit differently now than before the 2006 season.
I don't. Sean and Drew are gone. Tom Benson is gone. We're back to being the Saints of old in the eyes of the rest of the league. Mickey tried like heck to build the elite franchise kind of culture here, but it just didn't work out that way. It wasn't from a lack of playing the part. He still does so today with the way he discusses the team. In his world, it's an elite franchise I guess.

Chicago???? Heck no, Been there multiple times. I'd only go back if I had to. All the bad things of NYC and none of the good. And I was there playing music with a new record out and still didn't like it
I spent about 5 years commuting to Chicago for work. Haven't been back since I left that job, have no plans to ever go back. Can't stand that city. That said, I'm a born and raised New Orleanean that isn't a fan of what our city has become. I left 20 years ago and enjoy being elsewhere.

What exactly is the “Saints of old.”
Because they’ve been pretty stable under the Bensons, for the most part.
You need to go past nearly fifty years to even get to the Meacom Era.

Prior to the Sean Payton era, the Saints were not a desireable destination. Granted, we were better in the Mora and Haslett eras, but we didn't have nearly the shine that we had during the Payton era. The Saints played like, were managed like and resembled a major league franchise during the Sean era. They didn't come close to that at any other time in their previous existence or now.
