[Instagram clickbait post with no @ source] on why the Saints HC job is very unwanted currently. [mod edit] (10 Viewers)

At the risk of turning this geopolitical, we're supposed to infer that Chicago, for example, is suddenly more desirable a destination by comparison? These are the times when I wish the internet had stayed property of the military and we plebes would be satisfied using landline phones again.

Complete bunk instagram post. Any more honesty from me would violate the TOS here, ha.
Have you been to Chicago?

It's one of the most beautiful cities in the entire US. Sure there's "bad spots" but they're entirely avoidable especially if you're wealthy.

Is this peer pressure? "You wimps take the damn job, who cares about things like a cap, FO, or QB. Do these comments actually work on adults?

It’s pays millions. Even if you fail. And if you do fail, what’s hurt? Your reputation is all. What is this high school?

I think we’re viewed a bit differently now than before the 2006 season.
Lol I would hope we are viewed 100 times better than after the 2005 season even if we have a few obstacles to overcome

Also I was never claiming otherwise. I don’t look at this organization as the dumpster fire that some posters do

Definitely. In 2005, we had a ravaged city, a broken stadium, a fractured fan base and a 38 year history that had only 5 playoff appearances and only 1 playoff win.

Now we have a respectable postseason history and a Lombardi in the trophy case and not to mention a future first-ballot HOF QB in Brees as an ambassador and a former coach in Sean Payton who stayed on for 15 seasons under this same management.

It’s gets slept on but the entire Benson Era is about 40 years old now.
And they’ve been pretty steady throughout that time.

The first time I went to Chicago was for 4 days in January during the middle of a deep freeze with wind whipping in off the lake. Hopping from building to building on the Northwestern campus was brutal. I hated it.

I went back in May that same year and loved it, but not enough to overcome how much I hated that winter weather.

Tom Benson was top 5, what has Gayle done to be seen as Top 5 other than fire DA when Loomis didn't want to. Which is solid argument, but what else. Not saying she's bottom 5 either. Probably somewhere in the middle.

Also, giving a coach everything they want isn't always the best idea.
Gayle supports her people to help them be successful at doing their job's. While mistakes might be made they have the financial support from Gayle. Do you all understand the purpose of the salary cap ? It levels the playing field, team's are not allowed to dominate for decades like they once were

Last I saw, the plane hasn’t even landed in Philly yet. Nice try though.

Or there is a contingent here that doesn’t see how people can enjoy being here every day just to talk crap about the organization and how awful everything is. The endless sky is falling talk is ruining the quality of the board.

Move on. This is our reality. Let’s talk about what we can do with the cards that are dealt rather than complaining about the hand every single day and throwing fits when other people don’t want to participate in the daily doom and gloom fest and prefer to look forward.

We get it, you all are pissed and hate everything. We get the message loud and clear. When is enough enough?
The people producing many of these stories (in all honesty, many of them aren’t true writers) are reading message boards looking and developing stories to lure message board readers to their stories to gain more click because they sell ads based on the number of clicks they get. So all the negativity on message boards fuel negativity-based stories. I think that’s some of what we’re seeing. But to write something like this without having a byline giving the author’s name or citing sources, or at least reasons that might make them knowledgable (like a GM), is just straight up BS.

Fletcher and Underhill read this board?

Nobody is perfect obviously. But Ditka has 6 division titles and a Super Bowl under his belt before Benson hired him. Haslett had been a very good defensive coach and Benson gave him his first shot at being a head coach. It didn't work out that well, but the team was only slightly under .500 during his time here and he coached the team to it's first playoff win.

DA had already been a head coach with an terrible record, wasn't a good leader and talked in cliches.
Everyone everywhere knew it was Buddy Ryan's defense that was the reason for the Bear's success. That Bear's D was one of the greatest of all time

Chicago???? Heck no, Been there multiple times. I'd only go back if I had to. All the bad things of NYC and none of the good. And I was there playing music with a new record out and still didn't like it
