[Instagram clickbait post with no @ source] on why the Saints HC job is very unwanted currently. [mod edit] (1 Viewer)

He may not have the options to. McCarthy has only ever taken over good teams that had cap space and a roster loaded with talent. The one big talent he ever drafted was Aaron Rodgers. But the Packers had good talent all around and loads of cap space.

Moore and Rizzi, we haven't reason to think they can. But like McCarthy, we haven't any reason to believe they can't.

I think the hiring of DC, OC and positional coaches are going to be terribly important. If even one of them are anything less then average it be next to impossible to turn the ship around.
Mike Sherman was the head coach when Rodgers was drafted and they already had Brett Favre at QB. McCarthy came a year later. I think Ted Thompson had the most to do with bringing in Rodgers.

At the risk of turning this geopolitical, we're supposed to infer that Chicago, for example, is suddenly more desirable a destination by comparison? These are the times when I wish the internet had stayed property of the military and we plebes would be satisfied using landline phones again.

Complete bunk instagram post. Any more honesty from me would violate the TOS here, ha.

I think so as well. If you look at the talent that was drafted with McCarthy at head coach, green bay was consistent before, during and after. So was Dallas. Its a large reason I'd rather go with an unknown like Brady or Moore. McCarthy can game plan and get coaches who coach up talent. His play calling sometimes is great and sometimes is not. But I haven't any reason to beleive hes great at aquiring talent. And we have loads of reason to believe Payton was helping Loomis more than the other way around.

Complete bunk article. Any more honesty from me would violate the TOS here, ha.
The Bears were the first team off the board and with the most desirable head coach candidate this cycle. They have a QB that was the top pick a year ago, some decent young talent, the 5th most in cap space, and the 10th pick in the draft. So, yeah. They were more desirable.

I agree with you on that, I think Gayle is a fine owner, whoever wrote the article probably blames her for not firing Loomis though, which makes sense.
Yeah I don’t agree with that either. Unless in the context that Sean viewed it.

I agree that we just need to take our medicine, get right cap wise and draft well. All up from there.
The big reason is cap mess
It’s all the reasons they listed. Cap mess certainly at the top, little young talent, next to none. Future QB not on the team, it’s all nailed pretty well imo.

I stopped reading as soon as they said poor ownership group. Gayle is a top 5 owner in the league.

I get the whole idea everyone wants to fire Loomis, but honestly what does he do wrong? He’s a hands off GM that runs the books and allows his HC to dictate the players he wants. That type of GM is a HC’s dream to work with.
No, if she was she would have fired Loomis awhile ago.

As for what he's done wrong. It has been confirmed that Gayle wanted DA gone much much sooner, and Loomis talked her out of it. He has also allowed absolute terrible coaches to be hired, like DA who is probably the worst head coach of all time, allowed pete carmichael to stay for years, had our Dline coach not even teaching our 1st round draft pick defensive ends how to rush the passer, oh yeah and Loomis thought we had the 10th pick, not the 9th lol. The dude is off his rocker.

Also, whatever mod changed the title to clickbait and no source, i'll give you the no source thing, sure it's not from an official reporter, but what part of this title is clickbait? Clickbait usually means a shocking title with little to accurate or made up opinions, the reasons stated are pretty spot on. Love for whoever changed it to go into detail on why.

Perhaps it's a good thing you don't know how to read between certain lines :)

I plan to be able to quote Dennis Green's famous presser when it comes to the Bears soon enough.

Absolutely Chicago is a more desirable job than ours, are you kidding?

Just curious, what part of the insta post do you disagee with in order to call it bunk?

I gave you plusses for the Bears job. Perhaps you should explain how the Saints job should be more desirable instead of the snarky comment. I'm open to be convinced.
