[Instagram clickbait post with no @ source] on why the Saints HC job is very unwanted currently. [mod edit] (6 Viewers)

Or there is a contingent here that doesn’t see how people can enjoy being here every day just to talk crap about the organization and how awful everything is. The endless sky is falling talk is ruining the quality of the board.

Move on. This is our reality. Let’s talk about what we can do with the cards that are dealt rather than complaining about the hand every single day and throwing fits when other people don’t want to participate in the daily doom and gloom fest and prefer to look forward.
I hear what you're saying. But this is playing out in real time right now. There are no cards to play because nobody has sat down at the table. It's the period between the end of the season and the Super Bowl and the team is in transition while every other teams are moving forward. It's not really the time to see anything as a positive because there aren't a lot of answers yet. The mood will change when there is more certainty.

And nobody is throwing fits other than your contingent. Nobody is demanding your presence in these discussions. It's that you and a few others are trying to shout us down and are actually taunting and name calling in the process.

Also, whatever mod changed the title to clickbait and no source, i'll give you the no source thing, sure it's not from an official reporter, but what part of this title is clickbait? Clickbait usually means a shocking title with little to accurate or made up opinions, the reasons stated are pretty spot on. Love for whoever changed it to go into detail on why.
I didn't change the title, but that Instagram post is, indeed, clickbait. What part makes it so? This part:

Wanting a brighter future than the Saints? I got you guys covered today.

Without that, it's essentially a message board post. No source? Who cares, then? Scraping social media for opinions and re-posting them ain't journalism.

"Ownership group"? Really? Know your topic or sit down.

Correct me if I’m wrong - maybe somebody knows this guy is well connected - but I’ve got some big doubts. Looks like he pumps out NFL fluff to market fantasy related services.

My hunch is that he’s the type of person I was recently talking about who can claim connections and people buy in without questioning it.

These are his deeply revealing *insider* insights before he goes on to promote some promo codes:

One contact said "anybody who willingly takes on this job must be desperate for that head coach title in this league"

Another contact told me "New Orleans already isn't that desirable of a destination, factor in the mess that this franchise is in.. I'd tell everyone & anyone to stay far away"

Eye roll.

Tom would never have allowed DA to be the face of this team and would never have allowed the team to be $50-$60 million over the cap annually.

Tom Benson was here when the can kicking started. However I believe the big difference is that if he had still been here for post-Brees and Payton, he would have said in 2022: absolutely not to continued can kicking.

Any time I see "insider" info about the Saints from some random person that is lazier than the copy/paste panic I read here, I just laugh and find the "do not recommended this page" button.

“Contact” is a pretty broad term lol

Tom Benson allowed Ditka and Haslett. Don't see any reason he wouldn't have allowed DA.

I disagree with your opinion.
Nobody is perfect obviously. But Ditka has 6 division titles and a Super Bowl under his belt before Benson hired him. Haslett had been a very good defensive coach and Benson gave him his first shot at being a head coach. It didn't work out that well, but the team was only slightly under .500 during his time here and he coached the team to it's first playoff win.

DA had already been a head coach with an terrible record, wasn't a good leader and talked in cliches.

there is only 32 jobs in the world. there is only 32 jobs for each position coach in the world. People who spread crap like this in the media only means one thing. Some journalist and core NFL brass wives likes Louisiana men. Thats all I am saying about that

Based on what? Payton specifically mentioned her being a weak owner when he went to Denver.
This is the first time I've heard this. I did a search and couldn't find a single mention of this. That doesn't mean it didn't happen.

Do you remember where you saw it reported that Payton said Gayle was a weak owner?

I remember Payton suggesting that the Denver owners had a lot more financial clout, so he felt like the biased refereeing against him would end. That is not the same thing as saying Gayle is a weak owner.

He has connections, man...he's connected to his mom's wi-fi.

Tom loved Sean. Sean highly recommended DA. I think it's likely that Tom would have trusted Sean's opinion and given DA a chance.

Loomis might not have given DA a chance without Payton's strong recommendation.
