... and did you know that PFF rated Dalton higher than Joe Burrow?!?!?!?!?
Carr is getting the market rate for a mid-tier QB with (as of yet) untapped upside potential. So why go pay Carr all this money?
Carr should've been on a prove it deal. We bid against ourselves again
1yr 19.6M would've been fair for Carr given the "perceived" upgrade over JW at 14M.What’s the comparable deal that Carr should play on? Is it Winston’s 2yr, 28M at 14M AAV. Is it Garopollo’s deal for 1yr, 33M but kinda a 3yr, 73M at 24M AAV? I think that price sees a bunch more suitors for Carr - Bucs, Jets, Colts, Titans, Giants.
Carr’s contract can be viewed as a 3-yr, 100M deal or 33M AAV. I think it’s 10-12% over ideal, but being the first FA domino has a premium.

For all the talk about Winston not having a market....Carr didn't have one either, it was us and the Jets (who were just really trying to keep up appearances to leverage Rodgers)...and Carolina was bent on drafting a QB. We didn't even try to leverage that info. At least it looks like we didn't try to leverage that.
