Anyone who thinks Bobby sounds like he isn't a Saints fan must've never listened to Buddy D. I grew up thinking that guy hated the Saints. He always seemed negative even when we won. I couldn't stand that.

Buddy did have a great radio voice though.

Bobby left because of buisness.......just like ricky jackson, sam mills, morten anderson, and so on the list continues ........yes bobby is a saints fan all the way ...funny how most of our great players back in the day ended up on division rivals,,,,mills (panther) hebert(falcons) jackson(49ners) wesley walls(panthers) same thing goes for jake he is a panther but will always be a saints fan

In Bobby's defence...He was broadcasting for the Falcons and took the job after Buddy D passed. And as far as the way he sounds, there was nothing better than to hear that coona** talk after the game, in the days of the dome patrol.

Having heard Bobby Hebert on the radio in Atlanta I can only conclude the man is a fan of his paycheck. He displayed obvious contempt for the Saints when he was in Atlanta and now he is suddenly the biggest fan the Saints ever had.

Bandwagon at best but most likely just another media prostitute saying and acting like he has to in order to collect the dollars.

Hebert definitely no Buddy D. I'm also a little uncomfortable listening to Bobby, just because of my intense hate for all things Atlanta.

Points allowed by one of the best defenses in league history during Bobby's 3 playoff games:

1987: Vikings - 37 Offensive points in Superdome
1991: Falcons - 27 Offensive points in Superdome
1992: Eagles - 27 Offensive points in Superdome

I am willing to skip the most damning indictment of all, all those close low-scoring losses to the 49ers we had every year where the defense had the best offense in football by the throat for an entire game and the offense kept playing mumblety-peg with the knife and dropping it into its own foot while the 49ers writhed away and slipped out the back door, and simply address the playoff games in question.

Hebert in those playoff games:

Vikings -- 9-19-84, 1 TD, 2 INTs, QB rating 37.9; after scoring on the first drive and then getting a 10-0 lead, the entire team collapsed. Tommy Kramer and Wade Wilson combined were 17-30-249-3-0, 117.9

Falcons -- 26-4-274, 1 TD, 2 INTs, QB rating 65.8; not that the two INTs were critical or anything, but one came in the Falcons end zone when we were on the goal line about to go up 14-0 and bury them; the other came on the last drive after we fell behind 27-20. Total yards for game, Saints 330, Falcons 334. Chris Miller was 18-30-291-3-1, 111.9

Eagles -- 23-39-291, 1 TD, 3 INTs, QB rating 58.8; team was nuring a 20-10 lead heading into the fourth quarter when the Eagles scored on a jump-ball bomb in the end zone. With a 20-17 lead, Hebert completely fell apart, throwing picks like a madman and taking a safety as the Saints get outscored 26-0 in the fourth overall. Total yards, Saints 360, Eagles 349. Randall Cunningham was 19-25-219-2-0, 92.4

Yeah, clearly the defense had something to do with it, if they could have pitched a shutout, we'd have been fine. Throw out the Vikings game if you will, but in the latter two games the defense played well enough to win on a yards-allowed basis. Those of us who were at all three games had a first-hand look at clutch leadership: wearing a road jersey.
