He puts up good numbers against bad times, when it doesn't count/garbage time. When his team needs him he fails to deliver, especially against good teams. Come playoff time he completely Vanishes.

Only difference I can figure is AD's peak came with the Bengals, whereas Dak's occured with a Blue Blood/ premier NFL franchise. You switch thier places and AD would be on Speak for yourself, Undisputed and those other shows daily and be discussed as an elite QB.

Well he'll have no more excuses if he underperforms in this year's playoffs. He has a talented team from top to bottom. If he can't perform in the playoffs, he'll never get over the hump into the elite category.

Not a bad comparison. I think some people forget how “good” Dalton was for a while. Some guys just don’t have it come playoff time though. And it’s better to move on from a guy like that than to keep hoping.

Dak is better than Dalton. Don't forget Dalton spent a season with the cows and went 4-5 as their starter. The cows had a healthy Ezekiel Elliott, Tony Pollard, Amari Cooper, CeeDee Lamb, and Michael Gallup with Dalton.

Dalton hasn't posted a winning record as a starter since 2015. Nothing to see here folks, keep doing what you're doing.

But by then Dalton was washed. The first 7 seasons of Dak and Dalton are very similar though.

Dalton was healthier than Dak in the first seven seasons and Dalton played in and started 109 games to Dak's 97. Dalton has 12 more games than Prescott did through their first seven season, and yet...

Dalton passed for just 591 more yards. 25,534 vs 24,943.

Dalton passed for just 1 more touchdown. 167 vs 166.

Dalton passed for 28 more interceptions . 93 vs 65.

Dalton averaged 0.85 interceptions per game to Dak's 0.67.

Dalton's 62.45 completion percentage is less than Dak's 66.64 completion percentage.

Dalton has 20 game winning drives to Dak's 19 game winning drives.

Dalton averaged 32.62 passing attempts per game to Dak's 33.84 passing attempts per game.

The only real edge you can give Dalton is his health, which is important.

Dak is grossly overrated, but statistically he is clearly a step up from Dalton.

Dalton's not even a game manager anymore, because game managers win when the defense holds the other team to ten points.

First, I’m going to assume you mean the Bengals Era Dalton.
First, Dalton’s record at Cincinnati was 83-77 while Dak’s current record is 61-36.
But Dalton did spend his Cincinnati days in a way tougher division with Baltimore and Cincinnati. During his tenure in Cincinnati, the Bengals were a clear third in his overall time there.
Dak’s record may be better, but that hasn’t resulted in playoff wins, NFCCGs/Super Bowl wins or appearances. The Cowboys haven’t even been the top franchise in the East during his tenure. The Eagles hold that spot.

If Dak was on any other franchise, he would be seen on the level of Dalton, but he has the benefit of being a Cowboy AND being in a weak division for most of his career.

Or, you go down our path and make play-off performance a non-issue!

And Dalton didn't have the luxury of playing indoors half his games also. Pitt, Cleveland, Baltimore all have brutal weather come November.

Wouldn’t want either. Didn’t Dak get paid?
Definitely wouldn’t want one of them on a huge contract.
