N/S Ja’Marr Chase signs 4-year $161M extension ; Tee Higgins signs 4-year, $115M extension (54 Viewers)

Think they would have been better off getting some compensation for Higgins. That's way too much money tied up into three players all serving the single. passing game function.

A great QB, which I believe they have, doesn't really need two great $100 million-plus receivers. At some point, you need your great QB to be able to make others around him better, so that the cash can be spread elsewhere. JMO.
I wish the Saints had this problem, A great QB with 2 great WR's.

Higgins would be a WR1 on any other team in the NFL except the Vikings.

Is he better than Tyreek, St Brown, AJ Brown, Puka, Lamb, or Nico Collins? It’s all debatable, but he is the #2 in Cincy and he is now getting his money. So that is all that matters. However, I do agree that he would be a #1 on a lot of teams. Whether it’s by default or skill level

Chase what always going to deserve whatever number they came up with. He can do things on a football field that other WRs simply can't do. If Chase stays healthy the Bengals will probably never regret this contract. Higgins on the other hand, I'm not so sure.

I thought they were going to trade Tee. Paying two WRs top dollar is crazy, especially when it's your defense and lines that need more talent.

Fair point. I got excited and exaggerated. I think He would be #1 over all of those names except Puka, AJ and maybe Lamb.

Doesn’t he have that issue going on with him? Where a person died or something?!?! Can’t remember what it entailed

Ya. It's why he might be available on Day 3 where he originally looked to be a Day 2 pick. I suspect he'll make it in the NFL and avoid jail time. Bottom line, car accident where a person died and he fled. I don't recall any other details. It's a bit worse then Carter when he was entering the draft by some margin. Considering what we've seen from the NFL in the past I think its more likely this incident doesn't prevent his NFL career but will look to take a large portion of his money.

This whole scenario is interesting.
Carson Palmer left the Cincinnati Bengals after the 2010 season, citing a lack of team support and a dysfunctional organization, and was traded to the Oakland Raiders, later playing for the Arizona Cardinals.

Seems like they're getting a chance to maybe zig instead of zagging this time w/ Joe Burrow. They could have been stubborn a second time around and risked alienating a winning QB yet again and they didn't. Gotta give em kudos even if you think it wasn't the best allocation of their resources. How many times have you said "If i could do things differently I would"?

Bengals just did.
