Jake Haener (1 Viewer)

I don't have the capability to post clips so I'll just give you when they happen.
4th Qtr 5:36 to go 2nd and 18, ball on our 14. JH throws a 13yrd out to the wide side with zip and does not take a big step up, nor does he make a big wind up.
Again @ 3:22 in the 4th, 1st and 10 on our 24. JH throws a 20yd completion to Davis. Again no big step up or big wind up, just arm strength. Now the pass it a bit high but it kinda had to be , it was thrown
between 3 defenders
Also 2:00 to go 1st and 10 on their 30 Jake throws a lil 10 yrd pass over the middle to Merriweather no step up just a flick of the arm
Plus on the incomplete/ PI in the endzone targeted for Shaq Davis had he not been held down it very well may have been a catch of a well thrown ball
He has the same wind up in that first throw. Using frame rates, comes in about .45 seconds.

Compare that to Carr’s bullet to Thomas, around .35 seconds on the throw.

Both throws happen to be right around 78ft and need to be thrown on a line. From decision to throw to the ball reaching the target, Carr’s ball takes 1.33s to get there, Haener’s ball takes 1.63s.

You are seeing what you want to see, I’m seeing a 4th round QB who is not going to come into the league with zero flaws in his game. Look at throws with Haener on the run or off his base, average ball speed to target drops below 40mph. Carr and others with NFL arms will still have it sailing at 50mph+.

And Jake has played better with the 3rd string team than Young has with the 1's and 2's
At this point I can’t disagree, I thought Young would look better than he has. His line will get him crushed.

I guess everyone does that, more or less.

Compared to Josh Allen, Carr has a noodle arm, so I guess he will never be a successful NFL QB.
LOL, Carr definitely has an NFL arm. You don’t have to have the strongest arm in the league, but you need a minimum level of strength to make certain throws. Teams can cheat coverages to take advantage of, say, a slower throw on a corner route. That condenses space in the rest of the field without a team being able to take advantage of the extra space the defense is opening up.

I think Haener can shave some time off his motion, and if he has the trigger speed that he is known for, that further closes the gap.

At the same time, I don’t think he can tremendously improve his speed when throwing on the run or off base.

He may be limited to playing in a WCO, but worse things can be said about a player.

He had plenty of arm strength and quick release on Su. against the Chargers
